Something's telling me there's no longer a forum? Just the website now.

Sharpies might work but would they run when washed? You can buy fabric felt pens though, the kids had some once to draw on a t-shirt.

Wow. No idea but it reminds of a dress worn by someone famous to something famous and I wondered if the edges had been painted. It's a great effect.

Love the material of the first dress, very bold!

I have that shirt dress pattern but I've yet to make it, both kids want me to make them one which means tracing out the pattern (two different sizes required) and I've yet to muster up the energy!

Fun with Fabric / Re: Do you wash fabric?
« on: January 06, 2019, 13:54:08 PM »
I've only pre washed fabric twice.

The first time was an expensive linen that frayed loads because I didn't know that you should zigzag the edges to limit this.

The second time was a a big length of what was sold as marino wool/jersey. I then (about 4 years later!) made some tops out of it for myself and my husband. And they have all shrunk every time I washed them to the point we can't fit into them.

I probably won't bother in future - what happens happens.

@jesster yes I think I know what you mean, perhaps my knob needs tightening?!

Sorry for the vague/innuendo title - it was just good to resist  0_0

I have a Bernina 801 and I noticed today that the stitch length selector knob bounces up and down when I sew, seems to be only if it's set to 3 or 4. It sews ok though, any ideas what I can do to fix it?

I think you'd need some sort of removable cover as there's a good chance that it will get milky baby sick on it  :x

@warpbywarpweft  only one pair so far. I was going to make a skirt version but I didn't have enough denim in my stash and then I saw one second hand so bought that instead.

Patterns Discussion / Re: Pattern pricing. UK v. USA

you won't reach the threshold for UK tax (thought it was £15. Has it gone up??? ).

You're right it is £15 - when I was looking for info I found a page on Ebay that said it was £18
