Sewing Machines / Re: OMG How not to do it!

GBSB must be so proud to have their name associated with this image too.

They must have authorised it as their logo is stamped on the side of the machine - you can see that as it's the wrong way round  :D

House Beautiful / Re: Curtains for a CamperVan
« on: October 16, 2019, 17:02:16 PM »
I made curtains for our camper van (similar set up to what you have stated), can't remember how long it took me but I know I spent a day just cutting out the fabric and lining and probably 2-3 days (possibly more!) sewing them up. So if you could do it in 2 days £160 is really not that much for your labour. As others have said best off out of that one!

I really want to do this but need some inspiration!

I went yesterday finally! I really enjoyed it but I think I was more wowed by the Alexander McQueen exhibition than this one.

I didn't lose weight, in fact I can distinctly remember my sister saying to me 'are you sure this fits' as she tried to do it up  0_0 (she managed it.) Definitely doesn't fit now though!!

I made a skirt (simple straightish knee length skirt) with an Alice in Wonderland border print fabric I got from Spoonflower, you can see similar (yes it wan't my idea!) on the website.

I also saw an amazing mac made out of the same fabric, not sure if this link will work as it is on pinterest and my work PC bans it

In the wardrobe / Re: The inspiration/knock-off thread

The first is this black silk shirt.  The front view looks, and is, relatively plain, but the back detail is beautiful.  So the basic shirt premise is easy enough to copy but the back will take a little working out.  And is that a lace underlay beneath the back slit, or does the model have a tattoo? I can't decide.  Either way, I really want one of these.

I don't know how it's done but I too love the back of this shirt. If only we lived closer we could meet up and try and work it out together!

I may enter this and make another shirt for my husband. Or I may enter the posh frocks one instead and make something for me  :D
