I spent ages at The Sewing Studio yesterday and loved the Batik jr I bought... however.....having sorted the strips for the blocks for my Pam and Nicky Lintott new quilt ( a semi- sampler one ) They don't work 
I made the first block and although it went together beautifully, it looked rubbish and the colours didn't stand out from the background ( good job I only cut for 1 block as it needs 2 of each  ) Sooo....... ( shhh..... please don't tell Iminei ) I have decided to abandon the mystery quilt and use my no1 fabric as a unifying background for my new project. It is cream with a feint pattern and hopefully the batiks will show up against it.
Originally I was going to use the left over no.1 for the sashing but now I'm using all of it in the blocks...........hopefully this will be more successful. 

I just couldn't buy from abroad, my hand just wouldn't press the keys  But.... the colours look lovely and I hope you enjoy stroking them for a bit Syrinx 

I love Hunter's Star, but it looks even more interesting with the additions 

I made a quilt for each of my 4 Granddaughters ( 16,12,10,9 ) and apart from the eldest one in whose room the quilt is folded on the back of a chair, I have never seen any of the others again. Even when I was looking after them and cleaned / tidied the house I never saw hide nor hair of them...... perhaps they ate them 
My dil ( their mother and separated from my son ) made it clear that if it doesn't come from Next or IKEA she won't give it houseroom  Still, each to their own, at least she let me know before I wasted time and money.
My best friend said the same "don't ever give me anything homemade " but "I'll have one for the dog" 
So, my mountain will just grow higher, unless I get good enough to donate to Linus ( I have one ready to go  )
I'm just interested in how you all house so many.....

People always want "a bargain" or "something for nothing" Mine are not good enough to sell or raffle anyway 
I make, because I enjoy it... but, it seems a shame that the finished items never see the light of day again
