@StitchinTime Imi had only said to PM her so people wouldn't necessarily post it here too and yes, it's not just any weekend but Easter weekend and early Spring. Gardens and family call out to us.

If my cities one post office for 120,000 residents wasn't such a joke I would love to participate. Never more than 2 windows open, never less than 10 people in line.

I just have to live vicariously through the rest of you.

@Iminei I think with lots of shops still being closed, perhaps this swap may be better with a ‘get what you’re given’ rather than stressing people out with having to source specific items at short notice.

Anyone agree, or am I a lone voice in the wilderness?

I'm with @Ellabella I join in for the spirit of it rather than the item. 

That said, I am also someone who would much rather get or make something useful for someone rather than send something that ends up being just clutter.

Does that make me contrary?  I hope not.

Well, I’ve already made the first part for my swappee so hopefully it will meet their needs! Going to finish it off when I know who I have. I’ve just realised though that I have definitely made a feminine item which I hope won’t be a problem  :thinking:

I plan on making and buying. I've no idea what my swappee has or doesn't have so I'll probably make them something and buy them a few bits n bobs to throw in the bin as soon as they get them.  :laughing:

I heartily support both ideas. I'll be really grateful for what I get; just the thought of someone taking the time to sign up and do it is amazing to me.

Before yesterday, I had not seen our postie for 6 days.

I have a tracking number for something I am expecting that is apparently 'in the system, and we've got it' for 10 DAYS. Should have been delivered on 8 April. The sorting office is only open for 2 hours in the mornings, so annoying.
Posted No 1 grand daughter's birthday present yesterday, and I am praying that it will be delivered by Saturday.

I got a bit of a shock this morning when an Amazon parcel arrived.  I couldn’t remember ordering anything, but occasionally I have been known to indulge in a little late evening post G&T spending :scream:

Then I suddenly remembered the swap, so I checked my account and I hadn’t indulged. So the box is safely in the sewing room until next Saturday.

Thank you someone, lovely to have a parcel to look forward to.

I've had an unexpected soft parcel arrive this morning.  Wasn't marked AAAS21 so nearly opened when I just remembered in time. :faints:
Think it's from DDD going by the postcode & frank on the stamps.

So 2 packages arrived today. One marked AAA21 which I have dutifully put away. The second one I assumed was one of my more recent purchases so I opened it - realising I shouldn’t have done. That too has now been out away somewhere safe...

Confirmation my wee care package was posted to my swap-mate today well in time for 1st Class delivery tomorrow. I don't think they'll have any issue deciphering what it is when they feel the weight of the box (or that if they shake it nothing happens). I just hope they like what I chose for them  :)

I hope everyone has a nice Saturday morning opening their goodies. I'm looking forward to receiving mine  :dance:

I’m another one who didn’t wait long to open her parcels. First up is the bonus package from @Iminei, who very naughtily has gone above and beyond the duties of a swap co-ordinator.

Six, yes read that, SIX lengths of beautiful cotton fabric. SIX!!!

A wrist attaching pin cushion. A couple of lovely sequinned cats and some black elastic.

Had no idea what to send you and told @Iminei off for drawing me against one of the best sewists on the forum so I had to go trawling through your posts to see what you were into. Fabric? I can do fabric. As you'll see I can do random cat motif things and knicker elastic.

Yes, it’s two different kinds of the same style of print. I have loads if you want some. Mates…..or in this case forum rates. I don’t even know how much it goes for. I just chopped some off for @fajita with a sense of HUGE relief I had come up with something to send that wasn’t knicker elastic and a pin cushion  :laughing:

I found a little extra present on my desk I missed earlier. I’m not exactly sure what it is? Some sort of felting tool? If I depress the white bit, a pointy metal bit pokes out.

You push one end in and slide the end of the bit that pops out down the back of your needle. When it reaches the eye it pops through. You attach your thread to the bit that pops through and pull it through the eye. It's shaped to sit it perfectly behind the needle and slide it down.

Have you stopped drooling yet and put it all in the bin?!  :laughing:

So I opened my package today and I could hardly believe my eyes. @StitchinTime did a beautiful package. 2 types of scissor holders in gorgeous Kaffe fabric. I keep meaning to make myself some and never quite get round to it so this is perfect!

She also included a purse frame AND I don't know if she realises how happy she made me by choosing this gorgeous 1/2m of fabric to put in. I collect Tula Pink fabric and this is an Out Of Print design I haven't yet got - I am over the moon and have been stroking it all afternoon. Thank you so much !

Yesterday I spent a lovely day quilting away and can I say a HUGE thanks to RJR For my add a 1/4 ruler which is exactly the right size to forecast the crossover point on my rectangle quilting ...

I do wish the inch markings on it show up more but am loathed to mark them with a sharpie as Im using it on bright white fabric ... Any ideas how I can do this folks???

Other swapped gifts I find Ive been using everyday is the lil thimble pin cushion which sits (attached with Bluetack) on top of my machine and holds the needles I use to bury my threads.

Thank you ... Was it Acorn???  My Fairy Godmother last Christmas Secret Santa ??

Im posting this just to prove that these gifts do get used and become vital ingredients in my day to day sewing.

I'm glad it has proved useful! In terms of the inch markings you could use a sharpie and then put clear tape over it so the ink is 'trapped between the ruler and the tape. It might make the ruler more slippery though?

@Iminei - perhaps some careful use of nail varnish would work. I’ve not done it myself, but sounds plausible to me.

My parcel from Deutschland (Deutschland uber alles) arrived and what a lovely parcel it is. Some lovely handmade goodies and a pair of Victorinox scissors. I was cutting threads off selvedge last night just to have a play with them. Thank you so much for your generosity, Sir.

@Iminei - those snips you sent have been in constant use. I didn’t expect them to be so much quicker than embroidery scissors for snipping threads. I’ve found them very useful at the embroidery machine when doing lots of colour changes.

And @TartanPaint s lovely pink fabric has been used in the mini quilt.

I struck very lucky this year.  :toast:

I scored a fat quarter of this last year and it didn't have the selvedge- now I know it's Eden by Tula Pink! That explains it  :loveit: it really is gorgeous fabric in person. I don't know if I'll ever even cut it up, it might live on as a "souvenir fat quarter". If it's a decoration, it's not stash, right? ;)

@whofilets  All of Tula fabric is more gorgeous in person than in photos. Even some of the 'less interesting' filler prints from the ranges I have been getting at a reasonable(ish) cost have so much more detail in than I realised!

I don't count Tula fabric as a stash... it is an art collection and investment  :loveit:
