Oh dearie, dearie me ...That is sooo not the Spring green polka dot I am looking for...
New fabric from Higs and Higs (right of screen) arrived this morning and is more a sludgy lichen than the Spring green I need (centre strip)
For comparison, Makower Spraytime 2800 (left of screen)
If anyone knows where I can get this polka dot fabric (centre strip) please let me know. I only need 1/2 metre at most, FQs or anything considered.

I think not, I'm afraid .... the dots look smaller.
I have just laid out my ruler and the span of three dots is just under an inch.

The wrong PD fabric that I just had delivered was by Rose and Hubble, so that's one to knock off the list!

Have you tried Makower 830/G65 colour is called New Apple? Not sure which Spraytime (2800) you have there, G46 is Apple and G02 is Lime in the Spraytime range.
Sod's law tells me that "New" Apple is not the same as Apple so will be close but not close enough. No idea why basic fabric blenders have to change other than making us all buy more than we need just in case it's discontinued - which takes me back to customer service gone AWOL! Ducking back down below the parapet 0_0
-
I will investigate Makowers offerings.
I mean I have bought this nearby so that narrows it down to Cotton Moon, Hansons, Cherry Tree fabrics and Paulines Patchwork ...
Cotton Moon is a No; their polka dot is smaller and more pastel,
Hansens didn't have any when I searched the other day, plenty of polka dots but not this one.
I can't imagine having bought Polka dots from Paulines, but I may have to go that way
so it leaves Cherry Tree fabrics, who I am waiting to hear from having messaged Mandy on FB.
Thinking about it, Imself is passing within half a mile of Paulines later today ... he may well be bearing a small strip of bright green polka dot fabric and a note!!!

How do you know the code for the colour you are using? Is it on the selvedge of the fabric? This would be good to know for when I am at a stage when I need to match.
The only way I know to match in graphic design is by using Pantone colours but I am sure it's different when matching fabric.
-
The Makower site lists the numbers for each range and also the number for each colour variant. No idea if the numbers are all printed on the selvedge. I only quoted them as every device shows colour differently so numbers would be the only way of checking a match.
Not so important if you are in a store but helpful if buying on line
-
We have a firm ID on the Polka dot, thanks to the ever lovely Quilty who sent me a strip from a jelly roll that is a perfect match!!! Thank you Darling!
Sadly I need more than a 2 1/2" strip !! Not a lot (as the late great Paul Daniels would say) but definitely more;
and after ringing round various shops and internet suppliers things are looking bleak!
Yes, there may be some in America or Aus but in Blighty, I very much fear not!!!
The mystery fabric is now identified as
Manufacturer: MODA
Designer: Me and My Sisters
Range: Dot, Dot Dash
Code: 22263
Colour: 15

So I'm imploring you all out there, if you know where I can source or indeed if you have some of this lurking in your stash that you would be willing to sell, Please get in touch........
I only need 20 cms, 2 Fq's or at the most 1/2m.
-
Imi, while I was looking for fabric for the BOM, I found this. Any good?
Edit - Now I've posted it, the colour doesn't look right.
-
I dont know hon, any selvage ??? any clue about make ??
The spacing and size of the dots looks about right and pics taken in different lights, on different backgrounds etc change colours immensely.
-
What will you do if you can't get any ? :'(
-
Deep, Deep, Deeeeeep Depression :(
I have found somewhere that stocks it, and actually has it there in front of them !!!
They've even got back to me after I emailed them .....
Looks like we have it...Yeah! I recently shipped to Ireland for about $25 and I expect it to be about the same. If this is still an option, give me your complete address and I will add it as a shipping option.
If the charge is less than my quote, I will reduce your charge. Half a yard should be enough. Take a look around our site, you may find something else.
You will notice the 25 dollar bit!! They are in South Louisiana !!!
Is it really that expensive to send 1/2 metre of fabric from the states???
Can any of our Stateside members get back to me on that ?????
-
:'( was going to ask how the hunt was going. Can't you ditch the idea and replace with another fabric ?
They might charge you customs duty as well if it comes from USA ( £8 I believe )so I wouldn't bother personally.

There is absolutely NO WAY I am making all these again!!!!
-
It is listed on this Australian site www.fabricpatch.com.au, how does the postage from Australia compare to USA postage ?
-
Dont know that they post to the UK .... I have emailed them though.
If you were to send a small fabric parcel to the UK, how much would it cost you Polly?
-
I just put some in a basket Imi and the shipping came up as $9.90 which translates as £5.66..if I did it correctly :ninja:
-
I checked the Australia Post website and to send a large envelope up to 250 grams is about $9.00 by Economy Air. I'm not sure how much the fabric would weigh but this is in line with the shipping cost quoted on the website.
If you have any problem getting a reply to your email I can give the fabricpatch a phone call to confirm the availability and postage costs if you like.
-
No reply yet ... so yes please Polly!
-
I will call them tomorrow our time, it's a bit late today. Just to confirm, you need half a metre ? Jelly rolls and fat quarters confuse me a bit!
-
Yes please Polly,
I need 1/4m minimum, but would like 1/2m, ideally off the bolt, but I will accept fat quarters if necessary.
Oh hang on, this has just landed ...
You can always estimate shipping on our website, by adding the items to your shopping cart and then estimate the shipping button in on the bottom left. Change the country and tadah....
Price for shipping is $9.90 without tracking.
So that makes $9.00 for the 1/2 metre of fabric + postage equals $18.90 which in English is £10.73 today ....
and from the US ...
$4.50 for the 1/2 yard + ??
She estimated $25 ... but stated that was for 3m's of fabric to Ireland. She says she goes to the P.O and gets the best price and adds $1.00 so I'm looking at an unknown quantity !
I have no idea what to do! :(
-
I think you have already received a reply to your email but I rang the fabricpatch and confirmed the cost would be $18.90 in total. They also have plenty in stock.
Hard to compare when you don't know actual U.S. postage costs.
-
I've done it ordered 1/2 m from Australia!!!!! Gulp! :[
I will have to finish the buggery buggery thing now! :S
-
My package has arrived ... :D
and its the wrong size polka dot ..... :'( :'( :'(
-
Imi, Nooooooo!!!
May I join you in the weeping buckets corner......
Jessie
-
Oh no !
In all the excitement of finding the colour I'm sure I wouldn't have thought about the dot size.
-
OH, NO! :'(
How disappointing. It seemed as though you'd found exactly what you needed....

What about printing your own fabric? It is not a complicated design to reproduce, though it might take a few goes to get the colour matching correct.
For example, Woven Monkey offer fabric samples and colour charts and their 41" wide cotton is £14.50/m. You can print a trial test swatch for £2.50.

-
Have you got sorted yet? I have just come across this http://www.temptationsbentham.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=38_151_154&product_id=1167 It is described as lime but thought you might take a look. You could always ask them for the size/spacing of the dots.
-
No I havent found anything yet! :(
I'll give that a look though it looks to be too closely spaced at first sight! Thank you for thinking of me tho' :)
-
I've just been browsing online for this spotty fabric to see if I can find anything....(I like a challenge ><)
It's difficult to find any of this Dot. Dot. Dash! (It doesn't seem to exist any more)....but....and I'm really sorry to question you. I know you know your stuff, <3 but, are you absolutely, completely sure it's this 22263, colour 15?
The only ones which I'm able to find are the ones with the larger spot, as you've recently received.
I've googled '22263 15', 'Moda' etc... and it's the larger spot, and I've googled for images of the Moda range of the Dot. Dot. Dash fabrics, and again, it only seems to show it's a larger spot.
Has there been two versions of this? Something doesn't seem quite right and maybe that's why it's so difficult to find. :)
Sandra.

No what I received was correct and was the larger spot .. your sleuthing is spot on (pardon the pun)
It was the correct green though, everything about it, apart from size of spot was right!
I sent a piece of the fabric I need (a very small piece) they should be getting it sometime soon!
Thx hon
x
-
Oh, I hope they can help and you can finally get the fabric you need.
It ought to have been fairly easy to locate with all the details of the manufacturer/colour code etc.

WHO would believe it ??????
I went on a jolly to Midsommer quilting today, there was a plea from a lady in Dorchester (via FB, she didnt just shout really loudly) who was desperate to go, so I thought Why Not?.
She got to mine via the bus and I picked her up and whisked her off to the glory that is MQ in the willywags near Bath. a minute after walking through the door to this wonderland I was holding a bolt of this in my hands ....
(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/1yQZf3x5FAAzUahUJvt7aOifYvx3Gucn-KtmhXCJ9w5-QOrOFvlHTcxIoStazxvMZSdOFNWmKxKv7JFPB8H-OLfcTCmnFjSRjPssDi4K-La9hDBBDW6SpIC4fFvHKGz1hlkiGh9kkR4J9TKR_U5ZwSFgBYNbmJUqxITiR6kZ4l9nds3duluGLLESf0khcZ5TeWtHMz54BJBDvQYWmHxt1P0fQKu2PzbonccPgEj4h7DznRXADn3LfyNCZWouyc3Zs-x0GtbmXRVFKmAUcLc--1kEg7lhMJYaD2gPFozkf814SQVveUYbZ-Xgh1ImgvgCof-3j9FdBRZ6H_yjuqXkOFi9zyxDXWdm4kRAtq-EoBdV1A6Kqph5zgptZMzC4UkhSYjEjcEogtkNfaZyN6Y6X0so3bO7F1Bldh2rWflLOZDJR33mD-hVQFtyOHcYyW8eyXUP7J3nLZeAec389t6JHJS7R7Fs0VFi-H3cx2YLDScEMIxWOtZBbyVk5a8mZVrONLkdNpyz0uFt1V0IHQvTXiTBfU8fETY67sdEe_P3PbDUd9Zjf2j_Ztlsorjpkl6bOnpdXUhAsUGFCnzTfr_7hnHVvjIefBsAwJwxzssAsqN5vBOEQVqf-iUDX7QjhM54WfknXFl3_y2CQ9a-lIWVKCtCDOc=w387-h760-no)
The fabric I'm trying to match is the diagonal strip laid across the yeardage)
Now I know the dot is much smaller but the colour is spot on, so I bought 1/2 a metre ...
I'll have to finish the blooming thing now! :S

-
It was obviously meant to be - as a thank you for doing a kind deed. <3
-
Oh no, Ladies ... you will never believe it but as I wended my way through the glory that is MQ I came across this ...
and this lovely lady insisted on buying it for me as a thank you for taking her to MQ !!!!! :o !!!!
I did refuse once but she insisted and well, it is rather beautiful, so much classier than the JT CutnPress !
I shall have to go to some classes now!
-
Oh lucky you, that's what you get for being so nice ;)
-
Well done on finding your fabric and also for helping out another lady and how kind she was in surprising you - well deserved as you are such a generous person in all that you do for people and for TSP.
