Yes I made a wet suit once... I butted and zigzagged the edges together and stitched tape over the top, stitching down each side.

No.. just put the sleeve in as usual but match the centre top of the sleeve head with the new shoulder seam.

Really sorry to hear this sad news @hernibs .....

I find poly wadding more difficult to handle than a 80/20 cotton....I’m lazy and use spray baste.

Ah..the light dawns.... “you only have to make one block” will make 9 blocks but will only need scraps as every block will be different so only need enough scraps of the same fabric for one block.

I understood until “ you only have to make one block”....don’t you have to make 10?
I’m up early so may not have grasped the concept.

Just made this with a couple of pieces of Kingspan and a piece of oilcloth...looks promising( I’ll store it under the spare bed)

I’ve made dozens of quilts and not found it makes any difference... the Delilah quilt I made has the grain going in every direction you could think of.

No...just stitch them together...there’s no quilting police.

Efemera’s entry

The pattern is In The Sun Dress by Dress your Body.
I used the narrow hem foot to hem the flounce and the gathering foot for the gathers.
I added side pockets and a false hem to get the maximum length.
