Utta you do have the most fabulous taste in fabric.. love this one and I'm sorry it was wasted in something you wouldn't wear.. well done for finishing it. as others have said something simple next as a trial for some of those beautiful bits of vintage fabric you have stored.. they need to be used   :* :loveit:

the veiling we used to sell was 300cm wide... you need to know your brides waist to floor measurement including shoes ..

Fun with Fabric / Re: Allowing for shrinkage
« on: January 30, 2018, 12:07:26 PM »
I suppose they must up the price a metre knowing they are giving away 10%... its not anything I've ever seen !... we used to offer the end of the roll at 1/2 price and add extra if there was a flaw to work round but nothing for shrinkage

Do you remember those 'Magic Eye' puzzles that you had to stare at until an image suddenly jumped out at you?

If you stare at that last picture for a while the horizontal stripes suddenly jump forward, and the vertical stripes jump back and it becomes 3d.  Incredible!   8)

Really ??? I think thats just you hon xxxx

No Acorns right .. it jumps

House Beautiful / Re: Cushion covers... how hard can they be??
« on: January 26, 2018, 16:41:23 PM »
I agree with Mozzy I'd do plain on the back .. depending on the pattern you could get 3 fronts  of 40cm out of half a metre of fabric... whats the pattern like?  Oh and be aware that some firms have a minimum order of 1m
Cushions are quite simple.. you tube is your friend.. My best tip would be use a size larger pads in your cushions  (18" pad in a 16" cushion cover) they look better
