Sewalongs and Competitions / Re: Official Stash Sewalong Competition

Finished at last. Didn't have as much fabric as i thought so rummaged around in my bits box and found 2 long strips. Had to improvise with pattern. Cut panels out slightly smaller on the l shaped piece of fabric and then inserted 2 extra panels at the side front/back. In affect this means there is no side seam so then had to move zip into the back.

I too have the V3 and did quite a lot of FSL stuff for Christmas pressy' I use a heavy duty water soluble film and the extra large cones of Marathon Thread as i find it very expensive using the small Madeira bobbins as FSL does tend to use a lot of thread. I also use the gold tipped embroidery needles.
Have you tried reducing the speed rather than altering the tension?
i get the film and thread from BSK

This really is a stash buster. I bought the pattern and fabric together when I restarted Sewing in 2013, so it's about time I did something with it.

Hi, I have made this jacket, it does go together really well but it does make up on the large side. I posted a pic of my finished jacket under "Finished at last" in The Wardrobe section.

Does crocheting count, I started a cardy last June and have 1 1/2 sleeves to do (i have had 1 1/2 sleeves to do since JULY!!), i suppose i could be doing it now instead of catching up with the Archers Omnibus and typing this!

Vogue 8871

I have made this dress a couple of times, it is designed for 2 way stretch fabrics so very quick and easy to make up with the overlocker.

Can anyone recommend a site that sells nice stable t shirting fabric? I have looked in local shops but the fabrics all seem to be too stretchy or flimsy.

Fun with Fabric / Re: What weight denim
« on: March 29, 2017, 18:20:52 PM »
I made a denim skirt recently with some embroidered denim. It isn't heavyweight but not light either. I adapted a plain A-line pattern to make a button-through style and put poppers in it.

Love this fabric, where did you get it from?

Amazing what a bit of friendly rivalry does for your motivation, have sorted out more fabric and patterns and just need to decide which to do next.

Here are the finished trousers and photo of the fly zip being done. I have just read the instructions on how to enter and it is suggested that we should be wearing the garments we have made. Sorry but i absolutely hate having my photo taken and hate even more having to look at them so i am afraid you are stuck with them on a hanger.

Sorry but photo seems to gained some strange lines will try again
