Current Projects / Re: Does it need another row?
« on: November 16, 2023, 13:52:45 PM »
I think that’s lovely, @realale

I think the proportions are good as is, so if I put another row I’d be tempted to even it up with another column, too.

Having said that, if you sat on the couch with your legs tucked up, would it adequately cover the hips, legs and feet. That would be my perfect size.

I’m keeping this quilt in mind for when I get my sewjo back. Might steal it.

If you really don’t want to charge her, as such, maybe itemise the make for her I.e. £5 worth of fabrics, plus x amount of time, and leave it to her to pay what she feels.

18
Hand made and individualised, at least £15, if not £20. Maybe £20, but with friends and family discount of £5.

The final total is a lot, but irrelevant - the price you are working at is per item.

I’m half way into making a little baby girls dress. Just making it initially with some quilting fabric to remind me how hard/easy it is. Should finish it tomorrow. Then I’ll be looking for some good fabric.

I’ve been playing with photo stitch on my V3, using PE11.

Not perfect yet, but it’s a start.

I don’t think I’ll be going. But there is a chance I might be wrong. Time will tell.

This was a quick make of a new pattern, downloaded from Embroidery Library.  Just a scrap of stretchy I had. Lovely and quick and easy, I’ll now be on the lookout for more stretchy. The pattern has two arms, but I like this armless one.

Edited to add, in case it’s not obvious, it’s a small cuddle blanket with a soft stuffed bear head.

I saw it, then it became a blank page.

All done and flocking on the washing line in the sunshine.

What next, I wonder.

I’ve got my blackbirds quilt sandwiched and pinned. Need to get to a shop to buy suitable thread for quilting.

Next up will be a quilt for the new grandchild to be, early in the new year. Still in the thinking box.

I’ve got toothache and anti biotics at the moment, so impetus is lacking.

This is what I am in the process of making.

I’ve been at this point for several weeks, but I can’t seem to make my mind up. Should I do the between bits in the same blue background as in the pattern, or not. I think I’ve decided to do that.

Now I just have to get my knees to let me lay the pieces all out.

I’m thinking it’s a bit dark. And a bit big.

Unless I make two smaller ones instead.

Oops, in order to post pics I need to renew my subs. Be back in a bit.

This is the little blanket I cobbled together yesterday. It’s quite tedious sewing those lines.

I’m making a blanket to put on grandsons lap when out in the pushchair. It’s got two layers. One side is the same cotton fabric which backed the dinosaur quilt, and the other side is a green bubble fleece.  I’m putting rows and rows of stitches in, so many rows, lol, but no wadding. It will be just a floppy, cosy, thrown together occasional blanket.
As it’s for the pushchair, I didn’t want to put too much work in to it, as I fully expect it to get lost at some point.
I’ve overlocked the edges. I have half an idea to bind it. But it’s no more than an idea at the moment.
