Sewalongs and Competitions / Re: A "WIPGO" sew along
« on: August 19, 2023, 09:23:33 AM »
I've done much better this month because it's the school holidays.  I've finished one project and moved the other along.  Any progress is a step nearer to completion (although I'll probably have an almost identical board next year).

Maybe.  It didn’t seem too busy when I went on Thursday, but I was there early and left before lunch.

I liked the new categories Sustainability and Joy of Sharing, where the quilts aren’t judged.  I think we should enter that one, @Lowena . I was going to say next year, but you could do it next year and I could do it in 2028.

Numbers for August are 18 and 24.

That is Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery and the temperature quilt, for me.

That jacket is stunning, @sewmuchmore .  Look forward to seeing your  :pics:

July's numbers are #13, which means there are three numbers being called this month, #9 and #21.

For me, they are free, finish scrappy cushion cover and work on knitted suffragette.  Why am I knitting a suffragette?  It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Thanks, all.  I’ll have a look through your suggestions.

@jintie , my DD is at Uni in Bristol, so I’ll pop round with a piece of tracing paper and pencil next time I’m down that way.

Feathers, leaves, swirls, stars, but no daisies.   :(

Please does anyone know of a simple jacket pattern in which the sleeves are cut out in one piece with the front and back?   Like Simplicity 7893, but costing less than £47  :scream:

June’s numbers are 4 and 16.

For me that is knit slipper socks (I don’t know what that refers to) and to finish a QAYG quilt.

Me neither, @WendyW , but next week is half term so I might get to one of them.

A Good Yarn / Re: SPRING SOCK KNIT ALONG. 2023

At long last, I have finished my socks.

Next I’m going to do Ein Bisschen Wurfeln, a free pattern on Ravelry with which you roll a dice to determine how many rows of each pattern you work.

May’s WIPGO numbers are 23 and 25.

For me, this is my Bargello quilt, which needs quilting and my row by row quilt (again).

That sounds an excellent find @Ellabella ,
Not many seem to have craft sections and I only read on a Kindle, but, it's a much nicer experience visiting charity shops since they took notice of Mary Portas a few years ago.

I like it when they arrange the clothes by colour, as I only wear blue, purple or hot pink.  We have a couple of charity shops which took no notice of Mary and still sell old tat, which might be just what you’re looking for.

Eeek!  Did you knit faster and faster so that you could finish before the yarn ran out?

You know I did, @Acorn   :)

Plan B was to undo it and begin to decrease sooner, @Vezelay .
