It's art because they are all different and all hand made. 0_0
Some lovely pieces of work there.

I've been embroidering since I was a child, maybe eight or nine and I can't do French knots. I have followed every tute and instruction and nope!  :headbang:
I like the Monet stylee ones and the bee and the church...and some of the others....

I can remember a time when I used to get a fad for doing something after seeing it done really well.  Unfortunately embroidery was one of many things discarded because it was okay but not brilliant.

Those are beautiful. My mum used to do similar stuff and I have a couple of them.

The things that defeat us... I love French knots. Did a project once that involved hundreds, if not thousands of the things. Nice texture.

BUT! In fifty years of sewing, I have yet to put in a zipper that I am not ashamed of.

The Monet #9 is the best of all.....more attractive colours...the rest are too vibrant for me....as for whether art or embroidery....for me it is both!

Whatever they are, they are amazing. Not my cup of tea really but very very skilled - those french knots are incredible!

Why art OR embroidery? They’re not mutually exclusive options and I’d say these are both.

Wow, they are incredible. It's made me want to have a go but I'm not sure if I could remember how to do all the stitches now as I haven't done any for more years than I even want to think about  :o

I'll admit that some of the subject matter is not my cup of tea, but that doesn't detract from the stitching skill whatsoever! I have, after a  long time managed to perfect a french knot that isn't a bunch of loops, and can do a bullion knot that doesn't look like maggots!
