Title: Sunday, July 14th
Post by: Manuela on July 14, 2019, 05:32:51 AM
Good morning all, and it’s a beautiful morning here. I went for my daily swim and then had breakfast on the patio. Oats made with red rice milk and fresh mangoes, a bit like sticky rice with mango, but without the guilt  ;)
The main part of the renovation is done, TV and speakers (surround sound) are up without a single cable being visible. The built in closet it in, just the sliding doors missing and the rest of the built in furniture will be put in starting tomorrow. The place is finally clean and dust free.
I’m having a lazy day, will finish a dress a bit later and do some exploring when the midday sun goes down. A good chance to wear my rather swish new sun hat.
Have a lovely Sunday wherever you are.

Hi honey I’m home  0_0
Morning everyone got back from holiday late yesterday and I’m glad to be here usually leaving holiday is an anticlimax but it was lovely to come home to a place I love and a home that I am still excited to be in  :loveit:

The weather was good on the whole and I slept a lot, ate a lot walked some, did daily sea swims, took two new books to read and had to go to a charity shop to find more for the second week  0_0  I didn’t sew or knit, browsed a few shops but wasn’t really in the mood so generally spent the time regenerating  :)

Gorgeous weather here today washing is on the line some of the camping stuff is sorted waiting for DH to put in the loft and I’m about to go grocery shopping as the fridge is empty and the cupboards are bare!

Have good days all whatever you get up to

(DH has just asked if I want to go to the beach today I think he would like to squeeze some last minute water play before he goes back to work tomorrow  0_0 bless )

Dull and breezy this morning. A bit of paper crafting to do then may get on with the pinafore.

So happy for you, @justpottering .   <3

I've been car booting and have quite a haul this morning - 3 jigsaws for my mum, including one that I bought from a child from school  :|, day-glo copier paper and a phonics jigsaw with sound (I might regret that one), cereal bars, a pattern to make a little sewing kit, 3 books, a pair of trousers and a top.  I've been trying to do "one in, one out".  I have got a pile of clothes to go to the charity shop but not that many. :[

The weather is overcast and there was even a little rain in the air earlier.  I know I'm a little late to this but I must sort my summer clothes and put the winter ones away.  Can't live out of a box any longer.

Will visit my mum later and think I will need a nap this afternoon.  :|

Have a good day, all.

Morning all!  Dull here too but warm.  Hoping the sun will pop out later.  The forecast is for warmer weather this week, fingers crossed.  I would like a tad more summer before we start thinking about C*******s and the nights draw in.

I'm in the middle of tracing out another summery dress, an old Neue Mode pattern that I like but have never used.  I've got to add sleeves to it so need to dig out a well fitting one.

Going to settle down in front of the box later to watch the Mens' Finals.  It's the first time in about 10 years that I've been able to see it - usually I'm involved in a summer concert which takes place during the afternoon on the same day but luckily for me, it was moved to last week instead.  Yay!

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone xxx

Hoping for a less humid day today.
We are meeting up with DH's sister and brother etc for lunch today at a pub.  I’m worried about being able to sit comfortably and having to make small talk with the pain I have.   But as we haven’t seen either of them for years I feel we have to go.  His brother lives near Hollywood.  He is actually a rocket scientist!   0_0.
And then of course, the tennis is on!   :(.
@justpottering glad you had a good time.  Sometimes just realised what we need.
Have a good day all.

Were back too.  Just going to walk up the road for a few bits like milk before cooking lunch which was bought before we went away and then settle down to watch the British Grand Prix.

The garden looks mainly ok but the newer flowers at the front are looking a bit sorry for themselves and the water butt there is now empty.

Perhaps some hand sewing later.

The bride has just been for her fitting and has left. It's OK and I can finish it off as it is. Fits much better around her shoulders.
Such a relief, but I have a pot of pearls and beads to restitch back on.  :S The wedding is in 5 weeks time.

It's a bit grey here with a bit of dampness in the air. It does seem gloomy...what a difference to last year.

Not sure what to do today. I feel that I really ought to carry on with the evening/prom dress which I started yesterday. I've got the two lining layers to shorten, and then I need to make a modesty panel to fill in the centre front V neckline...It's very low on the lady, and she said she doesn't want to show her tits.  0_0

Sandra.

I came out of recluse mode today and volunteered for a committee (it's a big, retired group).
Not going into details, but I am enjoying the thought of sorting entitled men out!

It's still warm and dry here today - must be something of a record for Cornwall (11 days)  :) although there are a few darkish clouds threatening. Hopefully they'll blow over. I'm off out to potter in my garden for a couple of hours - it's my "happy place" - I love being out there. We've seen the build-up to the F1 race and will record the rest for watching later this evening. I think we have better weather than Silverstone which is very unusual. :)

We've had a nice day out at another village show, but tired now after being there for four hours.  And no rosettes for the woofs in the dog show classes.

I possibly ought to go out and cut the grass, as tomorrow we need to do a bit of shopping, and be in for Mr Sainsbo between 12 and 1, and do washing and putting stuff in the motorhome ready to go on Tuesday, but I don't think I can be bothered.  Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow?  0_0

Cricket - oh my gosh! What a match and what a way to decide it. So glad I’m not interested in tennis or F1 as one sport was enough to cope with for me.

Had a lovely day but I’ve stupidly got a bit sunburnt on my arms. There’s a weird white patch where I rubbed cream on but then I must have got sidetracked by DS and forgot to do the rest, so it’s quite pink on both arms.  :S

Spent the afternoon cheering on my friends in the local coastal rowing regatta (the ladies won all their races - woo hoo!)
I was sat under a gazebo thingy with a hat on but my arms were in the sun and I just didn’t notice.
