Sad to say our lovely Alfie is no more. Yesterday he was waiting for us to arrive at the Vet's to say goodbye, then went quickly without any vet intervention. He was completely adorable, very affectionate, full of fun and mischief and very fluffy indeed. We are so fortunate to have had his companionship for eight years - he will most definitely be missed. :'(

I am so sorry! He is adorable!

((((Hugs)))))

In the 90s, I adored Anthing Laura Ashley. I had loads of curtains, bed linens, etc. In their fabrics.

Recently, though I don’t think it has been as good.

I bought some from sewessential.co.uk just before Christmas. If you search for “Isabella” it should come up. I think they still have some.

I wouldn’t give house room to either but if I had to choose, it would be the first one.

I don't think she has a UK distributor, but you can get pdf versions.

Thank you! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. 😳

Does anyone know where I can buy Pamela’s Patterns tee shirt pattern in the U.K.? I have read the fit is excellent.

A very, very dark whatever colour fabric actually makes excellent background or border fabric for something with a lot of that particular colour in it ...

this dark sludgy green border (Stonehenge range of fabrics) was the perfect choice for a border for The Village

That is really lovely! Is it part quilted and part appliquéd?

Has anyone heard anything about the Croft Mill site?   I wanted to access their latest online catalogue, but Norton blocked me. Tried to contact CM by messaging from FaceBook, but that was inaccessible, so was going direct via the web page address.

I do hope it's just a hiccup in the system.

I'll try again tomorrow and phone during office hours if necessary.

The viscose linen washes nicely and dries with surprisingly little creasing..... if you need any further encouragement to buy!

I have been eyeing the viscose linen 😀. It looks lovely!

I need to look through my patterns to see what I can make and then I will buy some. I really like that web site!

Is this it (attached)?

Sometimes the pattern companies reuse pattern numbers so I thought it might help to post it.

Vintage Machines / Re: Reminiscing! Singer Merritt 187

I had 257 or 367, bought about 1970 and I donated it to Tools for Africa about 10 years ago. I remember threading it up was really fiddly and it so heavy.

Yes, the one I had weighed a ton, too.

I have read that hundreds of vintage machines were given to poorer countries so women could start businesses and make an income.

In Glasgow I recall seeing a clothing shop on a corner of two streets. It had big windows on both sides and all you could see in the windows were vintage sewing machines, all black Singers, I believe.
