I have never, ever used any of them. It simply doesn't occur to me. They are just there twitching away and don't seem to have anything to do with me! I will just say though, that that Snoopy one drives me potty when it's used - I can't seem to concentrate on what's been written.

Happy Birthday!! Have a great day.

In the wardrobe / Re: Decisions, decisions- what should I do?

I think option 2, but not such a deep piece of eyelet. If it is as long as in the photo the proportions look wrong - unless you shorten the dress first. If the dress is lined would you also line the eyelet? It's hard to tell from a photo but the dress fabric looks heavier than the eyelet.

Another really sticky night. Had the fan going all night which helped, but OH now says it has given him a cold!

I had hoped to finish some sewing today. I am making a lightweight jacket for Mum's funeral next week. Yesterday I sewed both front facings together. Having unpicked that I went on to sew the left front lining to the right back lining. Unpicked. This morning, when it was a bit cooler I managed to get it right and thought I was in with a chance of getting it finished. Then the iron ceased working. AO bringing a new one on Friday.

OH now complaining that there are no short sleeved shirts in his wardrobe. At a first scan I found six but for some reason he didn't like any of them and none of them would do. I told him my responsibility ends after washing them , ironing them and hanging them up. I am not in a position to decide whether he will like them or not.

This is the method I always use, but I don't have the type of foot he uses - I use an invisible zipper foot made for my machine. I know a lot of people don't like them but I get on just fine with it. I got a haemostat on ebay.

We have just got home this afternoon. Have been helping my brother sort out Mum's things. Such a sad job - so much stuff that you just can't keep. I have come back with lots of things in the boot but I have no idea where they are going to go. The charity shops are going to do well. I am consoling myself that every person who buys something in the charity shop will presumably be pleased with it and therefore we will have given lots of people some pleasure.

Our window cleaners use long hoses and wands and clean the windows very thoroughly. They have a tank of ionised water in their van which dries without leaving any residue on the glass.

Lots to do today. We have friends calling in on their way back from Cornwall and staying over - is that allowed? Need to pack a bag before they get here - Thursday we are going up to help my brother sort things out in Mum's house - he has spent the last few days dealing with it on his own. We can't start the probate thing yet because there is going to be an inquest - because it was a fall at home. May have a bit of luck though - the next door neighbour is interested in buying the house for his children.

Spent all day yesterday dealing with funeral arrangements so I am hoping today might be a little less stressful. Hope you all have good days!

We once had tablets to give to one of our cats. He was partially sighted so we didn't think he'd notice it amongst the food pellets (Science Plan?). He ate all the food and left the tablet in the dish. We tried crushing and sprinkling but he wouldn't eat any of it. In desperation, OH took a pellet, carefully drilled a hole in it, put in the tablet, mixed the pellet dust to a paste with water and sealed up the hole with it. He ate the whole bowl full of food - except for one pellet.
