Amazon.de seller wants mega postage so not much to choose really. I've just ordered a cheap rivet set so I'll play with that, see how I go.

Thanks @RJR_38 - that press looks brilliant, but with the new Brexit VAT and surcharge added I'm thinking a basic rivet set with fixing tool will have to do me for now.

...and no fitting problems with bags . Your wallet is fab @RJR_38. Love the label, PU strap holder and little studs (what are they?). I wonder did you use Decovil heavy interfacing as per the pattern? I used a Vilene substitute that was stiffer than I'd like. And I prefer the curved flap on yours too. Might have another go now I've seen your beauty.

Great makes @sewmuchmore, just shame about the wrap - that lovely fabric. The hat looks like Vogue 9044 style C, or is it B? I've plans to make one of those, definitely now I've seen yours .

It's been confirmed that masks can protect the wearer from large droplet spread too, which means the outside could potentially harbour virus particles. After use mine goes in a pouch or plastic ziploc bag and might be worn again on the same outing eg dentist/petrol station. Once home it goes in the washing machine to wait for the next wash load - pouch too, or the ziploc sits there a few days.
I realise that's more cautious than most people but it's what's been advised by medical science from the start of this pandemic. I made us 5 each, two for each car and a spare. They don't get much use as we live in a rural area and get home deliveries, but it's good to have them. I made six for a practice nurse friend back in April and she asked for more - she hated the surgical masks they were supplied with and wanted something that wouldn't scare the children she was vaccinating. She gets through two a day and they definitely get washed after each use!

@Tamnymore I guess it's early days re sussing out the new rules. My Jaycotts delivery arrived safely today, but goodness, the amount of detailed info they had to fill in on the packet was enough to put any small business off exporting from or to the UK. They certainly earned their £9.50! As I said, they weren't geared up yet for deducting VAT but I'm sure that will come. And where else could I buy 10 long dress zips, 2 reels of Gutermann thread and a metre of Vilene interfacing for £11?
The €22 threshold is for VAT (until July when it becomes €0
), and €150 before it qualifies for import duty. €3.50 admin charge would be good. I'd read €10 so hoping you're right. Just to add that I just bought a book off Amazon, no VAT, free delivery, and have a DVD in my basket, uk VAT-less so cheaper for me than last month!

@Sara-S It's quick and easy. I used this method https://youtu.be/p79mcqNk4po and downsized it to fit just one mask. I cut two pieces for outer and lining 11 3/4" x 5 3/4" and shaped one end. The finished size is 5" x 4 1/4".
The only issue I had with these is that it wasn't easy to close the popper with a mask inside. I find my poppers quite stiff though - yours may be fine, do give it a try.

Friend of mine made several pairs of PJs for herself as a starter project. She bought quilting cotton from the local shop - initially found it a bit stiff but says that after a couple of washes it softened up beautifully and is now very comfortable indeed.

Nice job @Ellabella. I made one using a Vilene equivalent of Pellon 71F but it turned out disappointingly stiff. Now you've reminded me l must try again with some Decovil I bought later.
With PU or leather you wouldn't need a heavy interfacing anyway. Good luck with that.
