Today... One thread per day / Tuesday 24th November
« on: Today at 06:28:46 »
Morning, I'm all snuggled up on the sofa, still dark outside I can hear the wind. I've had my hot chocolate and I'm thinking about what's to do today.

In the wardrobe / Wrap over jersey dress
« on: Yesterday at 07:25:10 »
This lovely bright jersey is from CroftMill, I have only made one wrap dress before, it wasn't a success. There was a thread recently about the pro's and con's of wrap dresses. I am going to have another go when I am able and I've got my machine back.
The pattern was a freebie with a sewing magazine.

« on: November 21, 2020, 05:59:32 AM »
Good morning, I am an early bird again. Dark outside still but it feels milder than yesterday. Not much planned for today, I might check my supply of Christmas wrapping materials and make a list of what is needed. I ordered some presents from Amazon yesterday. Have a good day.

Today... One thread per day / Thursday 19th November
« on: November 19, 2020, 07:02:31 AM »
Got up an hour ago, too stiff to stay in bed again. Cozy on the sofa with a blanket and a big mug of chocolate. Still dark outside and rain forecast for this afternoon. I now have a shopping list for Christmas presents so Amazon here I come, well after breakfast. Apart from the usual chores there is not much else to do here.
I still have 2 pretty pink pelargoniums blooming happily at the front of the bungalow and my neighbour's nerines are still going strong. Have a good day.

Today... One thread per day / Tuesday 17th November
« on: November 17, 2020, 07:58:34 AM »
Morning all, I feel do much better after a good night's sleep. I've had my big mug of chocolate but not in a hurry to get washed and dressed.  I must do some online Christmas shopping today, I've been putting it off for long enough (like a lot of jobs). I do feel more positive today as well.
It is milder today but not much sunshine on offer.

Morning, I haven't looked out yet but I can hear the rain on the windows. i think I'll stay under the blanket on the sofa for a while. Don't know what I am going to do today, there is a sizable list but... I must read the meter and send the reading to my electricity supplier.
Have a good day.

In the wardrobe / Jersey dress M 6886
« on: November 14, 2020, 11:28:30 AM »
I have been working on this for several weeks because of my painful hips I cannot sit for long to sew and now my machine is in for a service. The fabric is a very dark navy viscose Jersey with pink tulips on it and a few slim green leaves. All I have got to do is sew the side seams, put the sleeves in and finish the hem. I have added a cowl like collar from another pattern. I'll post a photo when I can.

Today... One thread per day / Thursday 12th November
« on: November 12, 2020, 07:14:29 AM »
Good morning, I am first again, didn't sleep very well and got up at 6 because I was too stiff to stay in bed. It is just getting light and it feels quite mild. I might wave a duster about today and I have got to do something about all the paper backs I have littering up the place. Christmas shopping from the sofa needs my attention too |O. Breakfast next, have a good day.

Morning all, another misty and calm start to the day. Not much planned for today except a walk around the cul-de-sac, I did see one neighbour on my walk yesterday and we had a socially distanced gossip.
No need to cook today I've got a chick pea, leek and broccoli bake to finish up. Have a good day.

Sewing Machines / Brother Innovis A80
« on: October 22, 2020, 10:54:03 AM »
Does anyone have this machine? Any comments on its performance would be welcome, I can't afford to upgrade very much. I just want a reliable and workaday machine. My Alfa 30 is in for a service and it maybe a few weeks before I can sew again. Thanks in advance.

Today... One thread per day / Sunday 11th October
« on: October 11, 2020, 08:28:01 AM »
Good morning, another sunny start to the day, hopefully no rain today, yesterday it chucked it down just after our short walk.
Not sure what I'll be doing today, I've got the lazy bug. We saw 2 small herds of fallow deer yesterday, one with a big stag who was guarding his ladies, 'tis the rutting season for them. Enjoy your Sunday.

In the wardrobe / Plum coloured trousers
« on: June 22, 2020, 09:40:02 AM »
I've started to cut out these trousers using McCall's 6901,  the fabric is a plum/maroon smooth, tightly woven cotton with a little stretch. I do away with the fly front and and put a zip in the centre back, I am using a contrast in a lighter weight cotton for the waist facings and the pocket. I haven't been able to cut out the legs yet, I've only done the small pieces. The sciatica of yesterday is OK (so far) today so I'll try to do some more today - how I hate this slow progress :(  but I have to do what I can when I can.
