Thanks @RJR_38 I'll ring Direct Line in the morning. I've always found them to be fair. I'll need to get a load more keys cut - daughters & their spouses and a very close friend each have one. I remember them being expensive 20 years ago ☹️

We're in! Much teeth sucking - 'ooh, high security lock, I'll have to drill it, they have lifetime guarantee, pity to destroy it' yes but it doesn't work - 'any other doors'? Show him new door to kitchen ' ok, this is Chubb security lock, I can destroy it' NOO drill the one that's already broken!!!! £409 including fitting a replacement high security lock. On the plus side, he suggested we might be able to claim on our insurance and has written a report stressing that we had our keys, the lock had failed. The electric heater is on in the bedroom, sausages & chips in oven, we'll be dining in bed.

Well you couldn't make it up😡 we just got back from DH's covid swab. Front door won't open, key won't turn. We know there's no key on inside. Go into garage, remember we never did get around to hiding a key in there to get through back of garage into kitchen. Called a locksmith, we're in the car but getting cold. Still warmer than in the house though. Good news though, our builder replied & is coming tomorrow to look at the water leak.

🤞hope it goes ok @BrendaP

Cold here, still icy on shady pavements. I had an hour's walk to collect some freebies from a lady who's destashing crafty bits. Haven't looked yet as will leave the bag for 3 days just in case. BT arrived and fitted the new internet. 34 years we've been with Virgin, they keep jacking up the price and would only offer a £3 discount (on £66 per month) so we've changed. Then DH asked me what I thought the funny noise was. You know how your stomach churns when you realise you're hearing running water? Under the new extension floor. Which has beautifully fitted laminate flooring. I've helped DH remove 2 cupboards in the middle of a run, these were dropped in over the stopcock. He fitted them well, screwed together then the sink dropped in afterwards. Much wrestling, the stopcock is now leaking, we have jugs of water  & the house is freezing because no water = no boiler. Just about to ring the builder. Hope he can help 🤞

@Celia that sounds hopeful. Fingers crossed for you both. I hope the nurses keep the cot sides up now that he is becoming mobile. I know the hospital communication has been poor but he should get physio in hospital.

I had an email from the Forum saying my subscription runs out very soon. I have it set to auto renew but presumably someone will tell me if it doesn't? I think last year @Iminei did. If I suddenly disappear please come looking for me.

That's lovely, you're brave tackling swimwear! Sounds tricky but you've got a good result. I love the flamenco skirt, the lace gadgets work very well.

We had a lovely walk in the woods, though everyone and their dogs were also there. I started making a snow dinosaur but got cold & haven't finished it. If we still have snow tomorrow I might finish it.

This week's challenge to the GCs was to make a castle from junk. Set by DH and we had a WhatsApp conference call to see the results. DD1 didn't have any cardboard boxes so made a gingerbread one with mini roll turrets(wow) DD2 had a giant box so the kids could get inside & pull up the working drawbridge. DH's was a box with a drawbridge and lots of Playmobil.

Mine print with a slight overlap at the top & one side. Since I'm unable to print only one layer (Adobe on phone) it's easy to join because I have multiple lines so if they all look ok I've joined it correctly. I then trace off the size I want.

@Gernella it's the raspberry supports! But I can see it looks like a bridge now! The extension roof should be strong enough, but that's a good point about a conservatory roof. Here's a nicer view of the garden, I hate the amount of junk we've got.

A local sewing shop was selling classes. Lovely location, beautiful set up, lovely owner. Her fabric stock was small but top quality. Dotted around were mannequins showcasing the fabrics & indy patterns in stock, with captions 'you could make this at class'. Trouble was, the finish was not good. I didn't say anything but it wasn't a good advert for the classes priced at around £100 for 5 hours. If I'd produced those garments I wouldn't put them out for scrutiny!

Welcome @Doglover looking forward to seeing what you make. Have you decided on a machine yet?
