@wrenkins thanks. That would stop the thread rubbing the machine casing.

@Ploshkin mine also creeps - until it jams against the box holding the embroidery unit. Only a problem once, when it suddenly accelerated after I took my foot off. On a tricky seam which then had to be unpicked.

Hot. Humid. Slept badly as bedroom so hot, and had a horrible nightmare, very unusual for me. There was a spectacular light show on the clouds last night but no rain or thunder. Maybe the aliens are exploring. At 7.30am I planted carrot & radish seeds. Not feeling like doing much else but DH has started fitting skirting boards & needs help to lug worktop into place for him to cut. SIL will pop over shortly (he's WFH) to help, between 3 of us we should manage. I'm thinking of getting the pool out, should have done it days ago but we were due to go to France yesterday.

@BrendaP nice work! I love that fabric. @RJR_38 could you post a bit of detail about the Cricut machine? (Auto correct wanted 'crucifixion' there). I do like a gadget, I wonder whether I need one?

Cooled a bit, 32° and 30% humidity. Greenhouse is 46° :scream: but the melons seem to be enjoying it. We had s brief rainstorm this morning but the garden doesn't show any sign of it now. Had a distanced garden coffee with friends this morning, we were due to walk but not in this heat. Went to big supermarket this afternoon - Aircon! Bliss! DH came with me, usually he doesn't want to but he also fancied being cool. I took advantage by making him buy new pants & socks. 3 packs of 5, so he's good for 15 days now (or, as he says, 60 days - 15 then 15 inside out, 15 back to front 15 upside down) ><

That looks fab. Very creative, using the belt. I hope you charged a fair bit for this.

38° and humid here. Overcast, but too hot to do more than a bit of weeding. Greenhouse has been taken over by melons, I was supposed to pinch out some bits & train others but got confused & now they're using the tomato plants as support. There are loads of flowers, instructions are to allow only 4 melons per plant (or was it per branch)? But I can't see many female flowers. Altered dress for DGD thus afternoon. Too hot in sewing room.

It's lovely. I like sharks - just as long as they're not in the same bit of sea as me. Wear it with pride and don't tell people about any mistakes learning opportunities. What's next?

Woo hoo! We have flooring! And stair/landing carpet. Only 3 months late. It reached 38° and humid, awful for the 3 floor fitters  Now trying to rain. I got all the washing done & dry, the last duvet still on the line, we got the tent dry & folded away, all the camping gear stowed. It's still very hot but I'm sitting in the garden watching a squirrel. I know they're rats with cute tails but I do like to see them leaping around in the trees.

In the Cotswolds this morning it was drizzling. Of course. We were packing up our tents whilst trying to entertain 2 toddlers. I was very keen to get our tent clean first as it's a bit big to put up in the garden to dry, & we've got the floor fitters finally coming tomorrow but it will have to be draped on the deck in the sun. Got home to bright sunshine, very hot &humid. Looking forward to comfy bed tonight & indoor night wees

That's lovely @Kenora. Flamingo fabrics do have some lovely prints: I have the hummingbirds waiting for me to pluck up courage to cut it.
