When looking for the pleather I found a couple of off cuts of shinier pvcish stuff.

One is 18" long and is 3" at its narrowest and about 8" wide for the majority of its length.  The other is 13" by 11".

If either of these are any good PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post for you.

Ooh I love that, it looks like the blocks are floating, very effective.

Oh Roger you shouldn't have shown me that!

I just love Silk yarns.

I have some black pleather but suspect it's not shiny enough for what you want.

Have bought 2 McCalls patterns already this year, I shouldn't even look ;)

Thanks Kad but I'm afraid it's a no go.  I've just had chance to check and it won't fit, such a shame.

I'm sure it will find a good home though.

Kad  I am really interested in this but just need to double check it will fit my 8200.  Can I have first dibs and will try to check first thing in the morning.

We have visitors tonight and it would be slightly rude to leave them alone whilst I check.

Fab fabrics Acorn, I love your colours.

If that pattern is calling you go for it but there are quite a lot of HSTs.

Better to make something you like the look of rather than doing a pattern just because its within your comfort zone.

Overlockers & Coverstitchers / Maxilock stretch thread
« on: January 21, 2018, 15:27:31 PM »
After problems with my coverstitcher skipping stitches, I had a look around t'Internet and lots of people recommended Maxilock stretch thread, so I bought some.

I've finally got around to trying it and I am very impressed so far.

I've just hemmed a couple of simple knit skirts and normally I would have had some places where the looped thread didn't catch in correctly.  I followed the tension settings shown on the Janome/Elna FB group and everything is hunky dory.

I'm very pleased as including postage it wasn't cheap but I'm happy to buy it if it means I can get a good result first time rather than faffing about sorting things out.

A Good Yarn / Re: Yarn for Aran

The only Drops yarn I have used is the Drops Delight I'm incorporating into my on going mitred square blanket.

The colours are lovely but I've found the yarn splits easily and can be a bit of a b****r to pull back.

Wool and alpaca mix sounds lovely, try one ball and see how it goes.

You may hate this sort of repair but you've made a great job!

I hope you charged enough, opening then restitching those seams took time.

I bought a set of Westalee rulers but haven't had time to play with them yet.  I'm aiming to try some cushion covers soon so will report back.

Bloomin heck, that's pricey!

For that price I'd want it to wash the clothes and put them away afterwards.

Isn't funny that I hate ironing but find pressing immensely satisfying.
