I got this years ago, never got past lesson 3.  It was literally watching paint dry |O

Mind you I'm hopeless with colour so should really watch it next time I have insomnia.

I hope Lowena reads this ;)

Lyn that must give you so much pleasure!

You're giving her a skill and building memories, wonderful.

Turkish cast on - Russian bind off, I never realised how cosmopolitan my socks could be, thanks ladies.

Fun with Fabric / Off to Fabworks

Next Thursday DD and I are on a long awaited trip to Dewsbury to visit Fabworks :) :P :* :loveit:

Is there anywhere else nearby that we should try to fit in if we have time.

Our main objectives are knits and some nice drapy wovens.

Bodge if you are on Facebook there is a very useful group called Cover stitch/Cover lock  which has lots of links to various videos and tutorials.

I've yet to get to terms with my binder. The problem is that the only time I think to try it is when I need to get something done and give up when it doesn't work first time. I should really have a play when I have no time constraints

I did a French Braid baby quilt from a scrap bag and that worked well.  Unfortunately I forgot to get a photo before I gave it as a present.

I got a YouTube link this morning to a MSQC tutorial

and thought that might work for the other bag of scraps I've got.

What I can't understand is if the fabric is cut for jelly rolls, how come they have selvedge edges spare.

I used Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind off. It looks quite bulky when you do it but the socks stay up and the cast off is comfortable with no hard edge.
I tried two at a time on magic loop but got in a pickle - did you find an easy to follow tutorial or was it just trial and error?

I did watch a Youtube video but I was well used to Magic Loop before I started two at once.

I'll try and find a link to the one I watched and let you know Maximum.

Can anyone suggest their favourite cast off for toe up socks please?

I am nearing the end of my toe up socks.  I have managed to master knitting two at once on Magic Loop, rather pleased with myself but the last time I did toe up I was disappointed with the look of my cast off.

I can recommend Brenda P's stash buster pattern, thanks Brenda, though I didn't do stripes, just used a lovely variegated yarn. I tried to knit two at once with that pattern but think the method is more successful toe up.

Well that wasted the rest of the day, browsing Aliexpress!
The card might have to come out of lockdown ;)

I always wondered what that circle with a cross was for.

Obviously not enough to look on the pattern information to find out!

Splendid! Thanks for the welcome.
I'm rather partial to coffee and cake. Rather too partial. :loveit:

Don't worry, there's a thread to help with that too. 0_0

Beautiful work Plosh. I love the quilting, it adds so much to the original design.

I managed to resist this time as I have several unwatched classes but can heartily recommended the Beverley Johnson class if its still available.
