Would she use a rotary cutter? What about a nice jar for buttons? Some pattern weights? I love spending other people's money for them  :)

Sorry, just read your list and not the last paragraph d'oh

@Deafoldbat yes, I do sew over pins, doesn't everyone? Should I sit on the norty step?  ><

I don't think they're rusty but now you mention it, I may have pinned a pattern piece that has been sellotaped together. I'll give them a wipe  ;)

A few of my pins have 'gone rough' - they don't slide into fabric very well. What causes this?

@Ohsewsimple it differs, sometimes I leave things unhemmed if I can get away with just a zigzzagged edge. But, on the few occasions I have sewn a jersey garment, they have had a straight edge and generally look ok. This top, however, has a curved hem, as I stated in my earlier post I ran a line of long stitches along the bottom to use as a guide but it gathered up a bit.

The wondertape will be the way to go for this one methinks  :)

I don't know about Wondertape so I'll research that, thanks ladies  :)

@b15erk Thanks Jessie, as it's a curved hem I did what I usually do and ran a line of stitching along the bottom to use as a guide for the hem, but I wonder if this caused it to stretch at all?!

Your idea of adding weight with a band of fabric sounds good, it hadn't occured to me. P'raps on the next one  ;) See how long that vow lasted?  :S

Finished this SA Courtney top today using BF discounted jersey fabric. The hem is an utter disgrace, it just does what jersey does  :S

I renew my vow to never sew with this type of fabric again  ><

I love the top though  ;)

G'morning tis much warmer here with no frost  :)

I'm visiting my bestie later today, not had a good catch-up for a couple of weeks. Jobs for today include dragging a huge old radiator that OH acquired from a church y/day out of the truck  :S I'm hoping he decides to enlist the heft of some rugby pals

Pattern pieces are cut out for another SA top but this one is a cute print jersey (BF 30% discount). After vowing to never use jersey again.....

Have a good day all

@Vezelay it's this one. I was lucky to find it in Jaycott's sale a few weeks ago  :) I made View A in size XL. From this pattern I've also made a nightshirt (C) as a christmas pressie for my bestie.
