In the wardrobe / Keep, recycle, or...?
« on: February 04, 2020, 13:54:01 PM »
I've noticed that some of you lovely lot are constantly on the make, of garments that is. What always crosses my mind is what do you do when your wardrobes and drawers get full with it all?

I regularly have a clear out of older stuff that I'm sick to the back teeth of, and donate to charity. This makes room for newer garments that I do enjoy wearing.

My bestie has lived in the same house for nearly forty years and she has one bedroom full to bursting with clothes, she has things going back to the seventies  :o Every so often she'll have a fleabay purge but she buys vintage clothes everywhere she goes so the stock never depletes.

How do you deal with ever-growing wardrobes?

G'morning I'm going to suss out the new Aldi stupormarket today - our third - only because it looks huge from the outside, so curiosity has got the better of me. I'll prob'ly end up sticking to my local  ;)

Y/day I cut out the pieces for four hanging pods in the same fabric to replace the mis-matched ones in the bathroom. Why can't I finish one project before starting another?   :fish:  It will likely be the weekend before I go back in the hut

Have a good day all

@Puzzler, yep that's part of the stash. The rest in stored in bins in the basement and DGD's closet.

And there was me thinking I had a stash...compared to you @samtowanda I have a mere piffle of a pile  :P

The Haberdashery / Re: Iron that lifts up
« on: February 03, 2020, 12:39:51 PM »
I saw this iron on a promotion email from Empress Mills. It does seem to have a lot of functions, which we all know means it stands more chance of breaking down  :S

I bought a metal plate iron last year from Currys for £12 which I love, it's lightweight and it steams and squirts and gets hot  :) thasenuf

G'morning tis blowing a hoolie out there, I'll need a bobble hat methinks

Today I will be busy picking up a few things in 'town', quite a bit of cleaning up and if I feel like it a spot of sewing.

@justpottering sorry to hear you've lost your dearest friend  <3

@Lachica it's too early for my wee brain, it has taken a full minute to realise your meaning  :S

G'morning, on this palindromic day, it's been raining but not now, good thing too as I'll be doing the  :woof: walks alone, the OH and SS2 still a-snoring after their night out  :)

I've made good progress on the first jumpsuit toile, it's ready to try on in preparation for a second toile. Not taking any chances on the proper one, the fabric I've assigned is too nice to ruin with mistakes.

Have a good day all
