In the wardrobe / Pattern hack top
« on: February 01, 2020, 10:19:36 AM »
This top is the SA Adeline Dress shortened into top length and with the neckline changed from a V to round.

I cut out the shoulder/sleeve then stitched it in with the checks running a different way. I also made two front pieces in order to change the neckline at the back. I used up the last of my brushed cotton, and bound the edges in the last piece of some cotton lawn.

I will make it again, maybe a stripe would be effective, or contrasting prints?

G'morning very pleased to see the back of January  :)

SS2 is nipping over here today to see one of his friends' band play tonight but he will be going back to his mum's tomorrow as he secured a job in York last week.

OH had a job interview y/day and was told before he left that he would be invited back for a tour of the factory. We're keeping fingers crossed as it's local and his current job entails a lot of travelling which he's already grown tired of, after seven months   :\

Speaking for myself I finished the top y/day, I will post a pic but really it's not worthy  0_0 best thing about it is the stash-busting element I started the toile for my jumpsuit hack using up some scraps so I should get chance to carry on with that

Have a good day all

@Manuela please advise whether this print qualifies for Florals Rule

Also, would making a garment from a duvet cover qualify for Refashion, Recycle?

G'morning today is stupormarket day with mum  ><

Had a good time in the shabby chic shop y/day, wasn't going to buy owt but needless to say I did  :S Found the exact same lampshade from the table lamp that Poppy  :woof: swiped onto the floor with her tail, for £1.50  :) Also bought a double duvet set which I plan to make 'something' from, it's a very summery print. I just might traipse up to the hut today.....

Have a good day all

G'morning it's fresh outside, nice and dry so I hope it stays that way I'm going out for a couple of hours to check out a shop nearby that sells quirky and vintage and hand-made stuff  :)

Not been in the sewing hut yet this week, it's too blinking cold but I've got all manner of ideas and wants spinning around in me head.

Have a good day all

Good afternoon I've been on a cleaning frenzy in the kitchen, was just in the mood  :o

Was woken at 4ish this morning by Poppy  :woof: barking her huge head off, oh crap, I thought, going to look out the front bedroom window. NDN with whom we share a driveway had an ambulance dropping off an elderly lady ?? The flashing lights, voices and banging around had set her off. We are fully alarmed and have a few cameras but being alone I did panic for a second or two. So of course I didn't sleep well after that  :S

@justpottering we won't ask as long as you tell  :P

G'morning I'm busy busy dusting, sorting laundry, stripping the bed - purely for my own benefit, the OH is in Oxford until Thursday evening so the rest of the week is all mine.

Been trying to get through to Dyson on the telephone which is proving to be impossible so have sent a brief email, I need a replacement part.

Neck and shoulder is much less painful, can manage to gently massage it now, I really need a good sleep  :S

@Kwaaked @justpottering hope you have a successful day  :)

Good afternoon just got back from a carvery lunch, mum's treat  :) Was v good and didn't pig out so still feeling fresh, although the rain is tipping down.

Won't do much today, the OH is prepping for four days away in Oxford, and I can't be bothered to warm the hut up for just an hour on the sewing projects. Lined up for when the top is finished is putting a 'bib' on a pair of trousers to make dungarees/jumpsuit of a kind.

Have a good day all
