Ah ha, I shall hold off on my storage box covers then, just for a few days.
I think I have worked out how to do it though.

SewRuthieSews's Entry

Pink and white variegated twinset
The cardigan is the Style Arc Nina.
I made some changes on my last version which worked well so this time I incorporated them into the tissue.
(Alterations  - dropped the waistline at the back round to the front. by about 1.5" at the back and .5" at the front. The waistline sits in a better place on me now. Also altered the direction of the neckband so its cut with max stretch going along the length, easier to ease and gives  great visual vertical line down the front.)
I used four different sewing machine for this (perhaps overkill!). The main seams are sewn on a standard sewing machine and then overlocked for a clean finish.
The outer edges of the collar/peplum are finished with a rolled hem done on the other overlocker and the sleeve hem is done on the coverstitch.
The Nina takes quite a lot of fabric so there was not a lot left, just enough to squeeze out a little cap sleeve tee. No real pattern used here, it is basically a slightly shaped rectangle with a neckband applied.

How are things going with all the pink projects?

After I did my cardigan (and a top from the scaps) I got sidetracked into brown, and the overlocker is just loving the very fine brown overlocker thread so I am loathe to rethread for another pink project! It seems like nonsense doesn't it.

(i think I bought the thread at the roll end shop and it might be ex factory? its labelled Guttermann Skala 200) and is a very fine polyestery thread, I remember it being a pain the first time I used it, like trying to thread wavy hair but tamed with some thread nets its an absolute delight to sew.)

I have some lovely blossom on a pink background fabric I want to make into a knit top but depending on the pattern I choose might want to test in other fabric first.

Or I could go for the pink trousers as I have a pattern for woven trousers I quite like.

Watched a basket lining tutorial as well, and get the concept of the bag better now.
I've found a remnant of fabric large enough to cover 2 boxes so will give it a try.

The fabric needs to be dense enough to cover the box (pattern, colour, cardboard with writing etc) but not too bulky or the seams in the bottom of the box will be lumpy.

I will share how mine come out

@wrenkins thanks for that.

I maybe wouldn't quite use their method but removable covers are a really great idea. I think I'd have one piece for the base and another for the sides.
And a version could be used to make basket linings too.

I have sewn a cardigan from pink and white variegated knit and a little tee shirt in the same fabric, I will do a photo at some point.
I'm still debating pink trousers, because why not!

Oh how lovely @fajita

I am partway done on my entry which is a sewn cardigan. I have cut a simple tee shirt out of the scraps but not sewn that up yet.

They are corrugated cardboard with a printed external finish

I have some storage boxes which fit on my shelves perfectly but are not in harmony with my colour scheme.
I have thought about covering them in fabric or plain paper and wondered if anyone has tried this sort of thing, and if so what approach worked best?

Thanks Ruth

Do quilts have a mind of their own? The one I received from @Deafoldbat was going to be a topper on the bed but instead has migrated into the study, displacing the fleece blanket (previously used when wfh and feeling a little chilly.)

I've been working from home since the start of the lockdown, and now the company is losing money and we've been told back office (ie IT, finance, HR etc) are going to be heavily cut sometime between now and March next year.
I am finding having the quilt in room a reassuring companion :-)
Thank you

see page 1 for the rules.
The item can be patchwork, clothing or whatever as long as its sewn and mostly pink.

Giant pink flamingo anyone?
