Based in Wrexham in North Wales brilliant customer service and has some "exclusives" which are rebranded. I have had a couple of machines a press and various bits and never had any cause to complain, they will give advice over the phone if needed and it's next day delivery for machines

I'm in the process of buying an overlocker through them, and the experience has been great!

I contacted a few other shops and didn't get advice just a list of machines that were in my price bracket and a request to come in, which I simply don't have time for... I don't even have time to go to the auctions at the moment...  -<

My favourite shop is World of Sewing in Tunbridge Wells. People who really know their stuff and will take you through the whole process of choosing a machine.

I've had a couple of machines from Jaycotts Chester
https://jaycotts.co.uk/ They are very good and I get patterns from them too.
Last two have been from SMD Wrexham (as recommended by Didi) because Jaycotts didn't have what I wanted but also they were extremely helpful when I just wanted advice.

This is where I got my machine. Good price, shop based lessons on how to use it. Also got my overlocker there, and lesson on how to use it. And have done a a morning session there recently to learn the reverse and memory functions of my Bernina. Friendly helpful people. But unfortunately an hour and a half away!

I can recommend CCB in Rochester High Street, dealer for Bernina, Pfaff, Husqvarna, and Brother machines and also sells pre-loved machines.  They also sell a smallish selection of fabrics and habby, and run various courses during the year.

We know of some real cowboys, of course, now trading under a few different names but it's good to know there are lots of good dealers out there.

Over the last few years I've had machines from GUR Sewing (Birmingham); Theobald's (Luton); Franklin's (Colchester) and Sew Northampton (guess where!). I live nearest to Theobald's and Sew Northampton. All were bought in personal visits to their shop or a sewing show (Franklin's at Duxford Quilt Show).

All the machines have been great and I got good deals so I've had no opportunity to really test out their customer service but I would happily go back to any of them.

All were happy to give me lots of time for demonstrations (GUR devoted 3+ hours to going through machines with me and gave me lots of freebies from their habby) while the in-depth machine knowledge of Mr Theobald, both domestic and industrial, is simply unbeatable.
