It’s finished now and on a bed and it makes my heart sing every time I look at it.
The American owners of Westalee rulers produce lots of new rulers and these days they are very expensive but Angie tends to make designs that only use the sample set.
To do a design like the mugrug I apply Bondaweb to the back of the plain fabric and then remove the backing paper. The next layer is the patterned fabric and then the wadding.
I quilt using rulers, templates and a very short stitch length. I then do the tricky bit. You have to cut away the top fabric to reveal the patterned fabric below. It’s just a bit fiddly but small sharp scissors are your friend. You then press the sandwich to fuse everything together.
My next project is a cushion for a friend’s Christmas present.
