Do other people make shanks for their buttons?  It's not something I generally do, but I guess if it was a very thick fabric then I would do.

Thanks, Morgan.  Your post is a bit of an indictment as I have a dress hanging in my wardrobe that needs buttonholes.

I try to as I fear that if I don't, the fabric will pull unattractively! I'm not very good at them though! :button:
