@rubywishes  is TSP's FPP Queen ... she might be able to give you some hints and tips ?

Always happy to pipe in...don't know how much worth there is in my twopence tho! :thumb: :)

Not usually. I am pedantic about pressing my fabric before and during construction but not starching.

"Monkey nuts"...are they the same as peanuts?

I love this idea @Diane and am keen to see it come along. I love the crows that come into my yard...I call them all "Duncan" as they all love dunking the bits of meat etc I put out for them into the birdbath! Interestingly, even though they are by far the largest birds that visit my backyard, they are easily bullied by the magpies and horrid little indian minors.

.........and now I've done my lower back, can barely walk, can't sit for long, can't lie down for long, can't drink while on these serious meds :boohoo:     Back to the pain meds I go. Sewing room door still shut. :boohoo:

Well I must admit the FPP option had my little ears pricked up but after having a look at it I dunno.....I'm not a huge fan of traditional blocks (says she currently constructing a gazillion squares and wonky flying geese blocks  :faints:) so may give it a miss. Besides which, I'm only managing about 30 minutes sewing a day at present with this wretched shoulder/s of mine.

8 weeks post surgery and I woke in the early hours with a massive leg cramp, flew out of bed half asleep and flung my arm up against the wall to stretch out the cramped calf muscle and can you guess which arm I reflexively flung out!? :boohoo:
I am now in real pain, back on anti-inflammatories and miserable as heck.
I did manage to sew a, as in "one only" block for my quilt yesterday...took me close on an hour before I had to walk away in dejection and misery!

Ok, rant over, tears wiped away and nose blown several times. I'm creeping off now to read a book on the couch.

@Bill I really like the apron with the blades up high. Looks lovely and cheerful and not too big at all! Many people on this forum can't abide FPP which I love......it confuses the heck out of them whereas to me its just "simples" and fun. Well, I'm one of the very rare minority (I think) that can't stand Dresden plates....don't like the look of them, don't like doing them BUT YOURS looks fabulous....brilliant in my opinion! :VV:

@Diane   I use very cheap thin A4 note pads that I buy from the local office superstore...I think they're about 55gm instead of the usual 80gm wt of ordinary paper. Ridiculously cheap. The only thing I have to do is feed it one sheet at a time through my printer rather than putting a heap in the printer tray...that makes my printer very unwell and constipated!

If you can, buy yourself a cheap lightbox...it's been a life saver for me with my current project and saved me so much unpicking through wrong placement. :)

@rubywishes when I saw the title of your thread I hoped it was the name of a new and fabulous quilt that you had made and not your current state.  Perhaps while you are out of action you can plan a quilt called Misery'  :)
I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Excellent idea Ploshkin!
