That looks nice, I may try similar, more a neckband rather than binding.

Thank you, @b15erk .  I did think about unpicking a bit of the embellishment, but they aren't bias so wouldn't work very well as binding.

I might even try and cut some of the mesh on the bias and try using that, but first I'm going to cut a spare piece and try the overlock and turn in method I think.  If I alter the differential feed on the overlocker to very very slightly pull the edge in, then maybe it will sit flat when I turn a hem in.  Oh, no, thinking about it, that won't work, I'd probably need to stretch it a tad, or not, I dunno now!

Any ideas on how to finish the neck on this mesh top please?
The bias binding isn't working however I fold it.  Have I done it wrong?

Ok, I'll ask, what is a singing bowl?

I did some hand embroidery once, mainly cos I loved the colours.  It was done from a chart in Prima magazine if I remember rightly, possibly in the late 80s or early 90s.  Hard to get a photo as it's high up on the wall and measures 24" x 9".  Took me about a year to do.

Pleased to hear you've fixed it, and this thread may well prove useful to someone else with  similar problem.

Yes, SJS are very good for all sorts of bits, I often buy from them.

Linky - a good source for stabiliser.

If you only want small bits, I think I have a few I can send you.

@Bill do Altura do the parts??  I'm pretty sure Ortlieb do, but they would be pricey.

@Bill What brand are your hooks?  How about looking for old tatty panniers on ebay to re-use hooks off them?

They look great, it's good you can buy all the hooks and stuff these days.

@RosyPosy Yup, Poppy and Sasha, both standard poodles, Poppy is quite big, and Sasha is a bit on the small side, she's often known as our sub-standard poodle

A rather belated welcome from me too.  I'm not a patchwork person (work of the devil, surely!) but firmly in the "no-one will ever notice that bit" department, hence my user name  0_0
