The Cafe / Bit of an odd 24 hours here
« on: January 03, 2018, 21:17:22 PM »
Bit of an odd 24 hours here.. got home from Hebden Bridge at 4.30pm yesterday after coming home a day early.  DD said I had missed a call from the hospital.. I had some tests in mid December. Rang back and spoke to the Nurse and was booked into have a MRI at up this morning to discover our drive was blocked by a fallen tree DH managed to clear a path with the chain saw and we made the appointment on time.. although  I discovered a piece of twig on the hospital floor when I changed  :S
then popped up to see the consultant .. her operation had been cancelled.. so now I await the verdict next week.. Hysterectomy definitely.. just where and when to be decided.. all a bit of a whirlwind  really...strict instructions no hauling round rolls of fabric so enforced break from work. I'm just extremely lucky I'm self employed and not the main breadwinner in this house .

and some other stuff... that I will not buy ..must not buy.. ok all right I'll just have a look  :loveit:

Current Projects / going off on a Liberty tangent...
« on: November 29, 2017, 13:55:38 PM »
So I decided I would like to make a Hexie quilt using my Liberty scraps.. I have quite a few and I bought some scraps from Standfast and Barracks when I went up there.. the plan grew and I bought some bits from eBay and I ended up with over a thousand all ready to stitch together but no actual plan of design I knew I didn't want anything formal or traditional and started wandering round the internet looking for ideas..... its then that I went off at a tangent  I had cut some 2.5"  squares from 3" squares to make my hexies and I kept the scraps I had other oblongs and so the idea grew to use them for a ticker tape quilt so while the hexies sit in there box the tickertape liberty quilt is well into production  :S

A quick  dress made from a jersey bought from the rag market earlier in the year.. I think its a 'Liberty' as did DF  who made a lovely wrap dress from hers ... just tried to find a link to it on her blog but no luck  .........................
pleased with it .. based on an old Mantary top which I chopped up for the pattern added about 50cm length and added a cowl neck
