Still blustery here but not to bad I'm just back from walking the dog and had to climb round 4 fallen trees and the 5th made me turn back.. DH and DD are off with the chain saw to attend to 2 as they are across a byway which is our land ... the other 2 are neighbours trees which have fallen onto our fields  the 5th is blocking the byway further along but on our neighbours

There are a few bits left on line I rather like this but have no purpose for it https://www.johnlewis.com/jane-makower-duchess-satin-fabric/p2299441?colour=Peony   only 2m left but its 150cm wide
I bought in there sale on Christmas Eve Half price stretch interfacing for knits and some velour .. sat waiting for it for  3 weeks 14 days delivery but I reckoned with all the holidays and weekends it would be some time... Got a phone call from JL saying there had been technical issues and all the orders on Christmas eve hadn't arrived at Oddies who were supplying the fabric
they would refund me and I should try and buy them again  >< well I had looked at there site that morning and knew the white interfacing was out of stock  there was some black ( and it was now 75% off) and the velour was still available
told the lady on the phone about the white and she did a shop search and rang me back none available  I had discovered there was only 1m of the black interfacing left and since the postage was more than the fabric ... (I no longer wanted the velour)  it wasn't worth buying  The JL lady did a shop search for the black found it in Oxford street and I purchased 5 m for £14 including p&p over the phone so it turned out ok

well the one I have in my cupboard is made by Dylon but that doesn't seem to be available .. Lakeland do this http://www.lakeland.co.uk/23486/Traditional-Laundry-Starch-500g
they are a good reputable company but postage looks expensive perhaps the brand is available else where

edited to add everyone beat me to it.....

Problem is, I already did the one for them a year or two ago...and they were happy with it  :(

They're going to phone later to talk to me about them. I'll try to put them off, but they don't like to be told, 'No. I can't do this'...

They  were happy with it... so what.. you weren't you found it a miserable tedious job .. I don't know if it took ages or you ended up being unpaid because it took so long( I've just had a return customer who questioned what I charged  )  but  unless you stand your ground you will end up doing this nasty alteration over and over again because I can guarantee they would be back....As Hernibs says if you cant say no charge them £££ just tell them you underestimated the time taken last time and ended up out of pocket so you can't in all honesty do the job for less than ££££ an see if they want to go ahead

Sandra .. say no... just tell them you had so many problems with the first one that you couldn't possibly do anymore... (unless you charge them ££££  )

Re Silent Witness, what I can’t understand is why the pathologists do the work of police detectives?  I mean I know we’re short staffed, but really?!!  Home Office Pathologists carry out post-mortems and give their findings to police and the courts.  They do not seek out the killer. :S  Their reports indicate to the police whether or not their suspect is likely to have carried it out evidentially, or not.  But, as they say, why spoil a good story for the sake of the truth?!
Exactly RD that's why we gave up on them many years ago

I'm just catching up on A Stitch In Time. I love when the dyer puts a glug of piss in the dye bath. Presenter looks slightly disgusted, but then the dyer dips her ungloved fingers in the dyebath and she starts to look horrified  0_0
everything washes off... ask anyone who has to change a babies nappy  0_0
