I think it's a shame that a cool imaginary creature is gendered.

However, as much as I don't agree they should be, colours are quite gendered. I would think you could avoid the gendering of the design by avoiding the obvious gendered colours of pink and blue.

It's a shame to do because it shouldn't have to be this way but I think it's a good balance.

We'll all be thinking of you and sending out good vibes on Wednesday.

Whatever proceedures they decide on, follow their advice, be kind to yourself and don't overdo things in the days and weeks following.

Block of the Month 2018 / Re: January's BOM
« Last post by Kenora on Yesterday at 22:23:43 »
Here's my attempt at January's BOM. Some of the points are a bit squiffy but I'll blame that on the fact that I'm still a bit squiffy with vertigo.  :S It just doesn't want to go.

Anyway, overall I'm reasonably pleased with the block - although I just looked back through all the ones that have been made so far and mine is quite scarily similar to Sandra's first one! Sorry Sandra - wasn't aware when I was choosing the batiks.  :'(

Vintage Machines / Re: What is the stitching like from a 500a...

Oh yes, I'd like to see the other stitches that the 500a can do.
I love pretty decorative stitches though I never actually use any of them beyond testing them on scraps of fabric and oohing and aahing over them  :S

Wishing you all the very best, Vege. Surgery is never fun but it must be particularly difficult when you don't know exactly what you're facing beforehand.
Hope you'll be feeling like yourself again very soon.  :drink:

I've just watched this at your recommendation and enjoyed it very much.

A beautiful piece of work. Thank you.

I would say for either gender unless you have a teenage boy in mind.
