The bottom line is that you do not need to subscribe to enable the posting of pictures, BUT it does help with financing the site and means that the forum doesn't need to carry advertising which many members wouldn't like.

Whether you subscribe or not, you will have to make a certain number of posts (25, I think) before you are eligible to upload images.

Ok....think I understand .
It was the ''too late "bit  refering to the dark side? I was confused by.

@UttaRetch advised you to avoid the darkside, as we call patchwork and quilting, and @BrendaP informed her that it was too late as you have already made a quilt.

@Glyn welcome. As you may be figuring out quilting activities are The Darkside while garment work is The Lightside. We tease each other about it and Darksiders are always happy to help Lightsiders see the error of their ways. A growing number of us do both.

Not really sure where other types of sewing falls.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

Lol....yes figured it out in the end lol.
I do have a good sense of humour....honestly lol..but appreciate the " in joke" info ....thank you ladies.
I find all sewing brings joy though....big ....small....simple  or complicated...maybe as well as a light  side and a dark side we should have a "middle road " too :) love and peace to you all !
And thank you again for the clarity
