That looks great!  That's the sort of thing that I usually do with the border - using leftover bits - will you do another black border outside it?

Hope the finger is recovering.
Yes I was going to do a thick black border maybe 6". The finger yes its grand now thanks for asking

Personally I don't think it needs a border - it takes away from the drama of the quilt itself, but it's your quilt so your decision. :)
Yeah i wasn't to sure myself but I want to make it bigger maybe a 3" solid colour and then another larger black.

I saw this and thought it would give you a good visual of the pieced border with two almost solids.

Churn Dash! I did some of these in my first quilt. The pattern was for a twin size bed or baby quilt. I made an approximate 33 inch square. The quilting is hilariously bad.

Finally ordered myself a bigger cutter mat and it came today. But now I wish I had of just bought one in the fabric shop, the amount of cardboard and paper they used to post it  saddens me  :'(

@CraftyIrish Could you not add such enormous images please!  Those are 4,032 pixels wide - the forum only displays up to 900 pixels, so there is no benefit to a larger image, but they take up an awful lot of space on the server and make the forum slower to load.

There's an excellent tutorial on using lunapic to reduce the size of your photos here.

Thanks!   :)
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

There is probably something that allows you to choose how big the photo will be, but I'm a dunce when it comes to phones - there may be other people who can help though.   :)
