StitchInTime’s entryAs the theme of this competition was “British” I have made a fabric tea set given that a cup of tea is often associated with “Britishness”.

I had three pieces of fabric with a London or red/white/blue royal theme, but each were only ~24cm square and so extra contrasting fabrics were need for part of the teapot and saucers.

I found a
free teapot pattern on Youtube, but even with the contrasting fabrics, I still had to resize the pattern resulting in lots of teapot and teacup toiles.

Structure for the items comes from two layers of cotton fabrics and one layer of quilt batting, with some additional interfacing in the teapot lid and some piping cord in the handles. The binding and decorations on the teapot were chosen to reflect a red, white and blue theme.
