I like that one @SewRuthieSews. I'm planning to have it as the centre diagonal.

I've just finished joining the 5th strip and have them laid out on the spare bed to look at them. Pretty sure everything's the right way up!!  :D

Next task is the longways sashing to join the strips.

Let me remind any Sparkling Star makers that pride comes before a fall.

I was about to attach the longways strip of sashing when I thought Uh oh

Luckily it was easy to get at and turn through 90°.

Checked the assembled sections lying on the bed and, blow me down, there was another one exactly the same  :faints:  Luck was on my side because it was on the outside edge and not trapped behind sashing.

And here's the completed top - except for maybe a little border or something.

Thank you @Iminei , I'm pleased with the result  :)  Patch please.

It's not layered, bound or quilted yet. Could still be a while...

That is stunning @Flobear  :loveit: I love the vibrant colours and the very precise stars. Will you use it at home?

Thank you @Sheilago. It will go on the guest bed when it's an-acshall quilt. Though whether it will be there in time for the next guest is a moot point  ;)

@Flobear my back of the sofa quilt has just a quarter inch border and a binding - I didn't want the quilt to get any bigger.  A flanged binding could do similar.  Thinking about if I don't think I'm a great fan of big borders, I don't seem to have done any.
Life's too short for ironing.

My BotS quilt has no border, a quarter inch binding and a flange, @Ploshkin and, like you, I'm not a fan of big. It will, to some extent, depend on whether I have enough background colour to do a border and what, if anything, I have that will be suitable for binding.

I think I'll have a look at the 2021 BoM quilts and see if there's anything there I can copy to inspire me  :)

@Imi  scared now  :faints:

Dont be ... Its truly stupendous!

Are you going to add a hanging sleeve (removable or fixed) so you can have a stunning piece of art on display?

Probably not because I think it's best 'displayed' on the bed - though never say 'Never'! The 1000 stars, that I'm starting today will be a hanging piece to go on the wall opposite the guest room door.

So far I have done
5 Ruby stars, 4 Amethyst stars and I'm still going on Emerald stars, as I have 3 completed and 2 in pieces. I know we only needed to have 3 Emerald stars for the planned design but if I have enough fabric I'm trying to do 5 of each one so I have more options for layout.
Once the last 2 Emerald stars are completed I'm going to have a break from little triangles and squares for a bit (until Sparkling stars comes up again on my WIPGO board)
