@Renegade Sewist no I’d never be accurate with one of those. But I am pretty accurate with shears.
It’s knowing how to handle them properly and how to keep the fabric still when cutting.

It's like I said before, it's whichever we are most comfortable with.
When I first bought a rotary cutter it was the then common smaller size. It seemed dangerous. I didn't use it for several years and when I finally did it was only for paper projects. Then a store was closing out cutters and, mats, like 80% off, so I bought an ergonomic large size Fiskar cutter and a couple of mats. OMG!
That was like the secret ingredient! The bigger blade is much more stable, therefore greater accuracy with less effort. It's actually fun to use. I've never thought that about shears. Plus this particular holder has the blade centered, very unusual. Both right and left handed people can use it without switching the blade to the other side.
Angels sing when I'm using this particular cutter. It's a dream tool.
