I’m curious as to how it can be cotton viscose unless it’s a mix ::thinks::
But yes a 70 is probably good. Trial and error in dressmaking.  :)

Nice stitches, there so the needle is perfect. And useful to see a close up, to confirm it's not a satin - I'm on my phone so all pics are tiny! .

Reply from the manager of Abakhan, Shrewsbury ...

Hi Imi, as this was a piece from our rems baskets there’s no way of knowing the exact content of the fabric, but I’d say it’s most likely a poly cotton. I’ve found another piece to gauge the weight and I’d imagine just a standard universal 70 needle would be fine for working on it. Depending on how many layers/other fabrics you’re sewing through you may need to perhaps go up a size, but I think you’ll be ok with the 70.

Top stitching done, perfect stitches (3.5 L) from the Splurgess (as expected) fabric sewed like a dream ... Pics of the dress later but here's a close up of the Top stitching ...

Here's the picture of The Dress that is indeed handmade but which I BOUGHT!

Its the Shelby dress from True Bias and I loved it as soon as I saw it made up on the rail at the sewing school, Jessali.

I DID NOT MAKE the dress I simply top-stitched all around the edge to keep the hem from rolling forward as it was beginning to do having been pressed into shape well over a year ago.

As I was saving the pic, Google asked me to 'say something' .. the only thing I could think of was 'I wish I had put my make up on' !

That's lovely, it suits you & fits well. I see you've accessorised with fluffy pink slippers, so you're all set for the supermarket run

I think that looks better on you than the pics used to promote the pattern, @Iminei

hahahahh ... I was make up free, with my pj botts and slippers on underneath the dress ... It was just for a quick pic!

If I ever go out in it, I will get a proper pic taken!

Ooh that's lovely - and it fits you so beautifully!  You need to be taken out somewhere nice so that you can wear it.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.
