Why not try a selection in the first instance?  Then if you change your mind after a while it's easy enough to replace them with ones that are all the same.

You can lay them out to see how they look before committing. My preference would be 2 or 3 of each style of 4 hole button in red and green because I always associate fish eye buttons with baby cardigans more than shirts OR a similar selection of bold blingy buttons because Christmas.

I'm going to try red and green ones down the front and green hearts on the cuffs to echo the detail there.
Buttonholes done, just stopped to make the dinner.

I like the gold buttons, but you could use one of each? Similar to the 'Joules' brand?

Thanks for all the advice, I went for alternating non matching red and green buttons in the end, with green hearts for the cuffs. I probably won't ever do up the top two buttons, but I still like to put them on and check they work.

Still need to stitch the hem and then it'll be done!

Looks great - I particularly love the one heart suitably placed, I was going to suggest that!

Love the idea of mixing it up abit, The best thing about it is that buttons are easy to take off/put on and therefore change-
