My Quilt Group's Bookshelf Quilt

My quilt group have a display area in the entrance of the arts centre where we meet and have just put up our latest quilt collaboration of a bookshelf quilt.  Hope you like it.

@Iminei we appliqués the books and other ornaments onto background fabric.  I did the plant on the fourth shelf using free motion embroidery but the plant on the top is actually 3D and it’s tendrils come out from the quilt.  Each shelf was made by a different group of people from the two quilt groups that meet at the arts centre.  The beginners group contributed to one shelf and the advanced group split to make the others.  It is also on a padded board back.

Last year we made curved tulips so don’t know what will be suggested for next year.

I saw that top plant was 3D but the spines of the books looked like they were in relief too ...
Amazing stuff is all I can say!

Wish we had a decent quilt group over this way.
