Already giving some thought to this interesting way to structure wardrobe sewing. Since I don't buy RTW clothing, I'm going to avail myself of the two previously sewn garments and probably choose two different colors of my pinafore dresses, which are part of my most-of-the-year wardrobe. What I need most in my closet are blouses and everyday dresses, so will focus on those. One colorway will be chocolate brown + teal/turquoise, which has become a new favorite combination. I have a chocolate brown lightweight corduroy pinafore that I made earlier this year, and an assortment of printed fabrics both woven and knits.
Not sure what I will pick for the other colorway (maybe indigo to black). I am considering maybe a handknit cardigan, colorworked on a black background, or some other sort of casual cardigan in several coordinating colors. Two years ago I made an Alabama Chanin style cardigan in brown jersey/blue jersey/black stenciling/grey stitching, and I have really enjoyed how it coordinates with most of my wardrobe colors.
I don't think I want another cardigan in that style, but something I can wear with the teal/turquoise colors would be ideal.
