Mondrian cushion cover

Mondrian cushion cover
« on: September 08, 2019, 10:38:28 AM »
I have some more leftover fabric from the Mondrian dresses, so I thought of making a cushion cover to go with the Mondrian quilt I finished a few weeks ago. Looking for patterns, I found nothing I really liked, so I made one in Illustrator. The cushion is 60cm x 60cm for our sofa in Thailand. I chose to have blue as the dominating colour instead of red, it goes much better with the denim upholstery.
Happy to share the pattern, the measurements are in cm, I added 1cm seam allowance (hopefully won't be arrested by the quilting police for that). Feel free to alert me if you find a mistake, maths has never been my strongest subject  ;)

Not sure when I have time to cut and piece it, maybe during half term break.

That's a nice design. Are you doing both the front and back of the cover in that design?
You can't scare me. I taught high school for 32 years.

Oh I really like that idea - thanks for the diagram....I would have to be awfully careful cutting out - would need to pull a thread etc to get it straight.

I just finished the cushion cover and put it on - pleased as Punch.

That is lovely..so very neat! (and geometrical!)
I have learnt by my mistakes: Sewing machines now are Bernina 720, Bernina 1008, Bernina 801 from 1981, Brother overlocker, ancient but works well

A great design  plain and simple but would use up odds and ends from a stash with care.
Love the finished product as well
Thanks for sharing the idea   :)
