Not an expert by any means, but I wonder if you need carriage screws? I used them when I had to attach a wooden table top to a metal base...

Thanks for the suggestion but, no, definitely not a carriage bolt. These are tiny, like the screws holding your light switch to the wall, just with a larger head. Most likely Singer specials like the rest of the machines.

Niche parts are tricky, you could try Helen Howes she may have dismantled a less desirable machine and have some.
