Very nice @Efemera , you’re so productive at the moment. You are putting us all to shame.

Well I’ve got my fabric, A very safe choice, but that’s just me at the moment. My quilting chutzpah seems to have gone walk about.

I have a totally free day on Saturday, so no matter how good the weather is I am going to get all my pieces cut and sorted. I can then just piece a block a day until my DH free weekend in early July, when I can make up the top, layer, quilt and bind. Then post off to Imi on the Monday.

That’s the plan anyway  :S

Well I came home to a lovely surprise.

@Lilian it’s absolutely beautiful, it’s really made my day.  I love the colours.

I’ve never heard of a Strawberry Moon until now. It’s going to have a place on my happy wall and will make me smile every time I see it.

Fun with Fabric / Re: Where, How and Why do you buy fabric?
« on: June 18, 2019, 12:08:39 PM »
Where - places like Fabworks, Immanuels and roll end shops, also markets and fabric shops in Leeds, mostly B&M.  I will buy on-line if I need something specific but much prefer to touch  fabric before I buy.  Strangely @wrenkins I've never felt the need to sniff it, may have to start now.

How - Usuall 2-3 m lengths unless its for something specific.  I will always round up as I dread running out of fabric if I cut something wrongly.

Why - Because I love it!!!! i am another self confessed fabricaholic and I also love beautifull yarns.  I have been known to buy remnants just because they are wonderful fabrics.  I have a box of  furnishing and curtain remnants that I swear will become cushions one day ;).  This year I am trying to sew from stash so am only buying fabric for projucts if I cannot source from stash.  This also means I am not allowed in fabric shops unaccompanied by my carers

What a lovely dress, very elegant.

I don't suppose fattening her up quickly is an option? :fish:

My latest make is a first dress for my 7 month old GD.  It’s Puperita Mini Tulip Overall Dress.

I wanted a good basic that I can play about with. It’s quick and easy and I look forward to making some more.  I’ve just realised I’ve swapped the button hole and button placements but I’m sure little Casey won’t mind.

It’s lined so being generous to myself I’m claiming 0.5m 0_0  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Well done @Holly Berry and all the other contestants.

I used fusible interfacing on my DHs TNT shirt pattern and it’s worked well so far.

I bought some lovely checked cotton from Fabworks so will be using it again soon.

The stuff I used was as cheap as chips but I just treated it gently and it worked fine.

I finally finished my Stylearc Martha overshirt. The trouble now is I’m not sure if it will ever be warm enough to wear it.

The pattern of the fabric is a little outside my comfort zone, I think stripes are a bit racy.

This plus a few new things for DD means a nice little stash reduction.

The next project is a dress for my 7 month old GD, don’t think it’s going to make much of a dent.  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

For Sale, Wanted & Free to a good home / Janome 8200 buttonhole foot
« on: June 09, 2019, 14:38:56 PM »
I’be just had a frustrating morning trying to sew the buttonholes on my Stylearc Martha overshirt.

It’s taken me ages to realise I was using the buttonhole foot from my old Janome8200, not my new machine.

When I use the correct foot everything works fine :D

If anyone can use the foot from the 8200 it’s theirs for the cost of postage, don’t want that faff again.
