The leggings are very simple, so I added flowers on the lower legs. 4 cm squares, folded into 8 then the corners rounded off. Snipped a tiny bit out of the centre, gathered up with a sequin in the middle. The idea was good but they keep rolling up so more of the back shows. I'll take them off.  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]  msg=203277]

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]  the side pieces were cut in 2 as there wasn't enough length to cut them in one. I bound the top edge of the pockets with flower fabric.

Lachica's entry
ingredients: simplicity K1613 which I made in early September out of cotton Lycra jersey which was too thick for the pattern.  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]  which looked ok ISH until after it was washed, when the thick bits at the front looked awful.   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
I used simplicity 1435 age 4 leggings pattern & got one leg out of the back   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]   and the other just squeezed out of the leftover fabric.
I based the dress on S1435 but cut the front along princess style lines to make side pieces. These were cut out of the front of my top. Flowered fabric was a half metre remnant from a FB stash clearance. (To be continued)

@Morzel I really like that jacket. Now, will he miss his jeans if I nick them?.....

Fun with Fabric / Re: I need Jersey for a toile
« on: October 04, 2020, 15:02:10 PM »
I was going to suggest some of the destashing groups on FB but I see your (beautiful) fabric is 385gsm92/8 and most of the fabrics offered in these groups is 95/5 and around 200gsm. So not sure whether they'd do the job. I've had good quality jersey from pepe_monty on eBay at, I think, £7/m delivered but it's not anywhere as thick as yours.

@Mick if you'd waited a couple of days you could have entered the reuse contest. Nice work though.

Look at Ellie and Mac, Brindille & Twig, Made by Jack's Mum, (Beachcomber gets lots of good reviews) Life Sew Savory. There are lots of others -ive used a free DIBY Club t shirt, it's well draughted. These tend to go from 6 months to 14 or so, simple designs ideal for stretch fabric. Some are free, some on sale for $1and some are around £10.

It's lovely. You've captured the shape of the tree well, & I agree that the empty background echoes the mood of lockdown. The rainbow will remind you too - it's suddenly on everything but I suppose will dwindle.

@RJR_38 @Renegade Sewist thanks for details of Cricut machines. I think I might put one on my Christmas list .....

Lovely job. I think it would be fine to have a contrast placket if you wanted to.

@Sewingsue look at Boob or Bust (aka BOB) on Facebook. There's a size calculator & explanations of the way breast tissue can migrate to armpits (& even to your back). I went from 38 C which were uncomfortable to 34 E which I can get very affordably from Asda. According to BOB I should be 32G. After a while wearing the new size, breast tissue migrates again, to where it belongs, and ridges of 'fat' - really breast tissue - no longer bulge over straps at the back. I should really try a 32 band again but they're not available in cheap shops.
