Jesster welcome to The Sewing Place!  :flower: :flower: :flower: They've welcomed our recent North American invasion with open arms. Such a friendly bunch. Hope you enjoy it here.  :cake: Do post now and then. I suspect we amuse them with some of the things we say.  ;)

Oh goog Lord. Is that a palm tree chained to a poodle?  >:) Tell me it's vintage Bakelite. That is so cool, maybe even better than my transparent red scimitar.

The suit is nice too

Welcome back.  :toast: I'm glad you're well enough now to play with fabrics again. Chronic health issues can be so annoying.

Hello blue mooney from another newbie here. They are so friendly and funny here; I smile every time I take a look around.  :D

Are you all settled into the new place? Have you been doing any art recently?

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome! Now, about that rain & sunshine exchange. Since I registered here we have had rain every day. Not all day mind you, but still, daily, with more in the forecast. It was 78 F on Monday and rained in the evening.

Does this sudden influx of rain happen to everyone who registers here?  ><

Welcome and here is a little reminder of the fish slap dance.

Thank you so much. That was invigorating.  ;)  :fish:

Another welcome from a fellow newcomer here! Your Vulcan is lovely. I understand about the Rocketeer.  <3 I have my Grandmothers Singer 500 from 1961 per the manual. It was my go to machine for many, many years. Loved it when more recently I learned they now call them Rocketeer. Makes me want to get out my jet pack and take a spin around the neighborhood.

Hi, I'm new... / Greetings From Sunny California!

Hello. I've been lurking since Manuela told me about TSP last Summer and thought it was high time to join in. The first thread I read back then a few of the comments included a fish slap, or two. I knew I had found my people. Nothing more refreshing than a nice fish slap in the morning.

I'm in Middle California. It's sort of the forgotten center of the state, where much of the worlds food is grown. It is sunny and warm/hot here much of the year, with less than 11" of rain most years. Tonight it is raining! Time to celebrate!  :toast:

I've been sewing in dribs and drabs since childhood. I do a bit of garment sewing, the occasional quilt-but more likely just the flimsy. I've done a pinch of home deco sewing as well. I seem to excel at pillow cases but that's about it.

I look forward to chatting with you. I know some of you from elsewhere online so it feels very cozy here.

As credentials may I add that my Grandmother was from Hull?
