Today... One thread per day / Re: Saturday 4th December
« on: Today at 11:19:39 »
The sky is bright blue here, although it is obviously on the chilly side.
Back to work tonight and probably wouldn't feel like it if BFF hadn't turned up yesterday to take me for a little jaunt to a brewery somewhere for a (very) small Christmas Fayre thing.  It is lovely when people realise that sometimes I just need a break from DH  :(
Today I will just hang around the house a bit, I did manage to start pyjamas last week so that is something! I may have little go at them again today.  They are a very quick make as it is overlocker time.  I seem to have ordered way too much fabric so DD1 and SIL may be getting a pair of dino PJ bottoms each to  match their sons
Have a lovely day all

Bishop sleeves were popular too and appear to have made a recent comeback! But all I can think of is tank tops and pointy collar shirts with flared trousers   Oooooh and short sleeve jumpers over bishop sleeves and and and cheesecloth!

You could get an old pair of trousers and do a godet in the bottom of the leg to make the flares.  I recall doing that with tartan for the Bay City Rollers moment of my life, but was certainly a 'thing' without it costing a fortune to do.

Happy birthday Kitten, have a lovely day

I managed to sleep ok last night, I woke up a couple of times to find Theo nicely lodged up against me
I now have Dali balanced on my knee as I type, I think they miss Paul as much as I do and we are all getting comfort from each other any way we can.  DH is an emotional wreck, his brain injury means he really can't cope with the unexpected and is relying on me, as usual.
Today I really need me time.  The boys pyjamas have been left and left, and I need to get them at least started by the weekend or I am in trouble with plans made etc, so a concerted effort to get up them stairs will take place today.
Thank you all for your support, I really do appreciate it  <3

Alterations Advice Please / Re: PJ Problemo

@Iminei If you are in your local Tesco it may be worth trying.  They are all one big company and I have taken things back to stores that don't stock the item. They are very good on returns unlike some other shops and you may hit lucky

And life goes on.
Phoned the Mother and got her shopping list, just need to get ours done and we will head off to the big Tesco in the next town to get the supplies for all of us, then delivery hers.
Then I am sure we will just sit here watching tv for the evening, nothing else going on.
Have a lovely day everyone

Do we have any pilots out there? Does anyone know how much it would cost to hire a plane?
Asking for a friend  ;)

Courses & Classes / Re: Craftsy membership offer

@Sewingsue i might be tempted if had another renewal for that amount.  I have to say I think the newer classes I have seen advertised have been like so many other things nowadays…….basic, dumbed down and not for me.  And I find it annoying to have to go through so much dross before finding anything advanced or interesting.  Of course I could be doing it wrong!
You have hit the nail on the head there! Every time you look for inspiration on a new challenge you get inundated with beginners hints.  Even if you google advanced sewing techniques you end up with nothing but learners techniques.
If you are looking for something in particular you may as well search on you tube as it is more likely to be there than somewhere like Craftsy

Some really interesting patterns there, I noticed one about doing patchwork clothing too which has been a topic here lately!
Thank you @maliw

That is gorgeous, I keep wanting to combine art and textiles but can never bring it together right, you obviously have a talent there

How beautiful  <3
I always promised myself that when I won the lottery I would buy myself some extant gowns to put on display in my dressing room.

@Iminei  Which was why I also said 'meticulous mathematical planning'  ;)
