Treasure your Mums while you have them. They won't be around for ever and it's only once they've gone that you'll realise how much a parent means. <3

That's so true. I lost both my Mum and Dad in my early 20's. Difficult throughout life to have no parents or extended family.  :(

Look after them whilst you have them near you.

In the wardrobe / Shirt, jacket or something else.

It's the middle of winter down here, so the perfect time for a thick outer garment. That was my thinking anyway.

So, here's my winter overshirt made from a tweed-like woollen fabric. Far too heavy for a shirt and maybe even too heavy for a shacket. So perhaps it's a shoat (!).

Pattern was adapted (significantly) from the Fabric Store Paola jacket. A new, larger facing was added, jacket/coat style buttoning, the cut was changed to suit a male frame, completely different, cuffed sleeves were added along with many finishing details. Oh and it buttons-up left-over-right (original pattern was for a woman).

I'm quite pleased, particularly given that it was my first attempt at pattern-matching. But there are things I'll change for the next one. Different lower pockets (bigger), an inside pocket, and I'll probably re-built the back panel with a central seam and vent.

Looked to lack atmosphere judging by the pictures on Facebook. Far fewer stands and people rattling around.

Judging by the pictures on Facebook there are not many selling stands. Loads of big names have pulled out apparently.

Thanks for that info, @Bjay. The Midlands Today news item is available on iPlayer - it starts at about 7 minutes.

@Iminei It was covered on Midlands Today - pictures and interviews. An extra hall to make more space for moving around, restricted numbers, wider corridprs between stalls.
Didn't look that busy - usual quilt display and some stands said it was just like bfore!

@Iminei  I don't think so but I've never made a a habit of faithfully watching the local news.  -<

Feel a little bit sorry to not be going this year but at the same time I think it might be a bit disappointing to have many of the regular stands missing.

Hope it's back to normal next year.

Sandra.

What lies beneath... / Re: Pattern cutting for bras

Pattern Cutting for Lingerie, Beachwear and Leisurewear by Ann Haggar might be worth a look

I’ve got this one @HenriettaMaria and I wouldn’t recommend it for bra making.
