My daughter who is a registered nurse working in a busy large Melbourne metropolitan Hospital Emergency department had asked me a few years back to make a rag quilt for her out of her childrens' old pajamas from when they were little tots....something to snuggle into on the couch and as a memento of when the children were little...and cute...and nice
.
She has been working under extremely difficult times with the Covid Pandemic, her shifts are not easy and her diligence, compassion and dedication to her job under such horrendous pressures has been absolutely admirable. I am so very proud of her. So, after finishing "Papyrus" which was so intricate and "new" for me, I was ready and more than happy to get stuck into a "cut and bang" quilt. So here it is..all finished, 76" x 70"....with the obligatory error discovered after washing it (can you see it?). Sewn on one of my vintage girls...the 201. "She" is now getting a pull apart and a clean and tickle as she is just about stuffed to pussys' bow with flannel and batting fluff as you can imagine!
What a wretched pity I can't deliver it to her as she is out of my 5km allowed travel radius. It will have to wait until I go to work at the end of next week as I drive past her house then.
