I have a brand new never used knitting machine, I have kept it on the original box for years in case I might need it………now is the time to let it go if anyone is interested I would like £250.00 for it. I do have a brother 850 ribber that will fit it, this is second hand but if anyone wants it I will sell it for £125.00.
Unfortunately due to its size and weight I am not willing to send this so it would have to be collected from me. If you have any questions please ask.

In the wardrobe / Home wear for summer
« on: March 24, 2021, 11:28:11 AM »
I want to make something to wear instead of summer leggings, they are getting thinner and thinner. 2 years ago when life was normal I made trousers and t shirts of the same material which I love, I used a Style Arc pattern, I think it was Linda https://www.stylearc.com/shop/sewing-patterns/linda-stretch-pant/  they are great BUT

Now I spend my life crawling round the floor or climbing into attic’s, cleaning or sorting stuff, often with a lovely cats help????  I need something that won’t flap around my legs and attract said cats attention or get caught on the steps of the ladder and try to kill me   both have happened.

Any suggestions ?

For Sale, Wanted & Free to a good home / Accuquilt dies
« on: January 27, 2021, 17:05:35 PM »
I am selling a collection of dies for the accuquilt, the 2 companion sets have not been opened and the 6 inch block set has been opened but not used. Now the problem is they are heavy, I mean really heavy, if anyone is interested I will try to find the best way to post at the best price.
I would like to sell them all together for. £200.00 if you look them up here https://www.quiltdirect.co.uk/acatalog/Accuquilt-GO--QUBE-Mix---Match-Sets.html
You will see they are £480.00 to buy.  I will split them if anyone want one of the companion sets but I wont sell the Mix and match set on its own.

If you need anymore info please let me know.

Patchwork & Quilting ... Welcome to the Darkside / Miniature quilts
« on: January 01, 2021, 10:54:27 AM »
I have always been interested in small items, I have made miniature bears and also some miniature beaded items, at the moment this is just an passing thought.
Does anyone have any experience  making miniature quilts, are they always hand sewn or can you make them on a machine? Do you need special fabrics etc.
Also not sure about sizes, could these be used as Mug rugs or are they just sort of decorative, if you have any how do you use/display them
Thanks

Access All Accessories / Help to make Bag for my new loom
« on: December 30, 2020, 10:44:34 AM »
I was looking at websites yesterday as one does and saw this bag for my loom, it is £65.00  :faints:

I am thinking I could make one, I am not sure if I have the right material but will look later through my stash if not I might have to BUY some ?????

My plea for help is what sort of interfacing could I use and should I put a zip or does anyone have any other ideas for closing, not sure if the original has a zip or not.

Any other tips would be good

This is my latest make, it was intended for a Christmas present about 3 years ago but has been delayed by the arrival of a new kitten, now 3 years old  :loveit:

After much deliberation and help I am going to state my intention to join the dark side. I have done a few of the 2020 blocks that Iminea has kindly provided, this has given me some confidence so now my first real project.

I am going to make a pink quilt in the pattern suggested by @wrenkins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYRXjZeiAJY  I don’t think I have enough fabric for the cornerstones and the border but if I just do the cornerstones and use something very similar for the border I think it will work.

The fabric is a jelly roll from Moda and the cream is a very fine calico, first question is this going to be ok?

A Good Yarn / Does anyone spin
« on: June 30, 2020, 14:51:28 PM »
I am thinking of taking up spinning again and would love some advise re spinning wheels etc or even just some encouragement.

I learnt on an Ashford traditional many years ago but have not spun in nearly 30 years

Sewing Machines / Do you use your decorative stitches?
« on: September 26, 2019, 15:17:16 PM »
This is something I often wonder about, how often do you use your decorative stitches and how many different ones do you use.

I am trying to prune my sewing machine collection and wonder how much I will use the fancy stitches even if I do more quilting.  I will never make lots of really big quilts as I do not have the room space but don’t want to leave myself without something I need.
My favourite machine is my straight stitch machine Janome HD9

Sewing Spaces and Furniture / Cutting table
« on: July 11, 2019, 09:53:16 AM »
Kitchen decluttering is now nearly done but I feel a bit more of a revamp coming on, do I buy a new table if so do I buy one from ikea that will go up and down to turn into a cutting table.

Has anyone got one?  I am restricted in size but think I can just squeeze one in, I will try to link the one I am looking at later but really would just love some suggestions
