Woo Hooo!!!

Just booked a room for the FoQ this year!
Staying (at present) at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham airport (noisy)
(everywhere else was either shockingly expensive or booked up)

and going to be there on Thursday and Friday !!!

Sakar and her delightful hubby Martin, all the way from Austria, will be going on those days,
and I believe Mali will be there too ....

So who else ?????

Am I too late to join in the reminiscing about school sewing lessons ????

I remember (I think) only one year at my school of sewing. It was taught by a stringy old bird (probably in her 40s then! but ancient to us) and I was forced to make a 'Princess line' dress in an ugly small patterned brown and cream flower fabric (think tana lawn) which I did and finished it and took it home to hang in the wardrobe ever more...I can't ever remember wearing it!

What I remember far more clearly was the day she was telling the class, among whom was myself, my best friends Jo and Kat, about seeing a man almost drive off the road whilst ogling a girl in skin tight jeans (this was the late '70's) whilst we were all furtively sewing the legs of our jeans as tight as possible... with the mandatory split at the bottom to enable your feet to fit through!!!

The lessons were not a great success; Jo became a Graphic designer, I dropped out of school, life and most everything else but Kat went on, I believe, to slave for Zandra Rhodes!

Well I have been busy.....
